speedo and temp gauge

My speedo and temp gauges will not work on my 106 gti.
Does anyone know which earth they;re controlled by?
Or some suggestions for fixing it?

I assume you took the battery off? In the vtr the earthing points are in the footwell next to the door. More than likely the same for 106

Ye batterys not been in a while. Ye ill take them all off and clean them i think!
