So basically, as 90% of whey comes from new zealand (and thus is subject to an 18% interest tax) 38% of the price of protein will be tax!! The other products up for the tax hike are creatine containing products and pre workouts. The only silver lining is that the bill hasnt been passed yet, and If predator can get 100,000 signatures on a petition they are eligible for a review so keep checking the site for the petition.
Word from deeper sources however has said that anything marketed as a 'weight loss' or 'meal replacement' drink wont be subject to this tax. So if it does get passed, expect supplements to be re labelled accordingly.
