Hi,

I am coming up to needing some new tyres on my saxo vts.

What can you guys reccommend to put on them that will improve grip as i have always bought budget tyres and am not liking had a few close calls 'especially' in the wet!

Thanks

Tomo.

on my race saxo i got yoko 048s i have run all sorts of tyres on bangers befor but the 048s are the bollox from what i have seen, in the wet it got a bit scary round silverstone, on the bangers i used tecknic v blades or the weatherspeeds both remolds but got a high speed rating and i never had any problems with the tread,

The rainsport 2's are good, but at the end of the day everybody prefers different things, i personally get on with the rainsport 2's better than the other tyres i've had in the past. I really didnt get on with my proxes t1r's, and everyone always recommended those to me. It's trial and error really until you find a tyre you are confident with unless you take a chance on what others are saying.

I've got a friend who swears by Continental sport contact 2's. Personally never tried them but was going to give them a go if i didnt get the rainsport 2's

when i had them fitted i lost all steering feel entirely. car felt very vague and suddenly had much more body roll. gone over to kumhos on the front now and instead of wallowing and rolling about, the car darts about and sits far flatter

Toyo T1R's

gotta agree, I have just bought my second set of these, and love how they stick, but also agree with comment above, everyone likes different things in tyres,

deffo agree with this altho they dont last very long at all and ive noticed once they do start to wear down they seem to loose grip and slide a bit more

I rated them so much I put 2 on my works van

I have tried whole bunch of rated tyres on my 106 GTi and I'd rate these up there as one of the best ( for the price range of around £45-£60 )
