Black MK2 VTR progress thread.

Right guys, should be picking the car up in less than an hour, and to keep myself occupied I thought I'd start the progress thread now, along with the list of mods already on the car.

Bought her for £1200 off a friend, 80k miles, 6 months tax and ticket, recent timing belt and water pump change aswell.

List of mods so far:

VTS alloys powder coated black, with Toyo Proxes tyres all round.
Supersprint full stainless system
Raceland De-cat Manifold
Lowered (unsure how much but it sits perfect for me)
Widemouth Grill (will replace with standard one at some point)
Angel eyes with road legal HID's
Corbeau reclining buckets with Luke harnesses
Smoked rear lights
Gauge cluster backlights changed to neon blue
Cone filter (unsure of make but will be replaced with a BMC in the coming months)
Team Heko wind deflectors

Right decided the front splitter and front and rear bump strips were in dire need of painting, so gave them a quick (and I mean quick) touch up with Halfrauds finest matt black, cleaned the interior, windows and wheels, aswell as changing the old useless 6x9's over for ones that do more than make fuzzy noises!

Most of my updates will just be little things to start with as I'm skint after buying the car! Roll on midnight so I can finally take the fucker of a thing out! :D

Will the paint not just flake off?

Why not use some back to black or something?

You shoud try Autoglym Bumper Care, I use that stuff and it makes the bump strips look like new.

No gave it a quick rub and a quick coat of plastic adhesion promoter, which is what we do at work if theres any defects on plastic trims... I probably shouldn't tell you this haha!

Right guys, the Saxo is dead, or very close to it anyway! Coming along a dual carriageway some dick in a merc kept dicking around, so i switch lanes, realising theres a slow moving forklift about 100 yards ahead, tried to move back in but the guy in the merc deliberately stayed neck and neck with me so I couldn't, ended up having to jam on the anchors, and the back end went... Spun round but managed to keep it in the same lane, however a car that was around 150 yards behind me still managed to drive clean into the front of my car, and its fairly trashed! To make matters worse, the police have said because the vehicle spun round, that it's my fault, and the twat in the merc came back and gave a statement saying I was undertaking... Fair to say I've been shafted here, I actually love that car to pieces so I'm really hoping I can get it back on the road! :(

Far as I'm aware, it needs 2 new wings, bonnet, bumper and radiator. There's probably more wrong as I havent had chance to assess the damage properly, but will be doing everything I can to get it back on the road, and if that fails, will be buying another VTR and keeping all the mods off the current one.

Actually can't describe how I'm feeling right now, I suppose heartbroken comes close, anyway pictures will soon follow, and hopefully in the coming weeks I shall be posting to say the car is back on the road, will keep you guys updated anyway.
