I've recently bought a set of upgraded front calipers with braided lines and master cylinder. I've heard that dot 5.1 gives a better feel on the pedal? Anyone who actually done this can say anything?
Cheers, Shannon.

You won't notice a difference until they get very hot. 5.1 has a higher boiling point so you will have a better pedal feel for longer.

not strictly true
The DOT rating is a minimum standard - nothing else.
Some brands will match these figures, others will have far better boiling points.
For example. We sell the CL Brakes Racing Brake Fluid (http://www.kamracing.co.uk/cl-brakes-dot-4-racing-brake-fluid.html) and its rated as DOT 4, but its one of the best brake fluids on the market currently.
Castrol SRF is even better for wet boiling point (dry boiling point is lower than CL Brakes) but its silly expensive.

So should I just stick with dot 4?

read the back of the bottles. Find out what has the best wet and dry boiling points within your budget and buy that.. it may be a dot 4 or a dot 5.1 rated bottle but dont get too hung up on that.
