Goes by how many current and unique members there are. And also the technicality of the site and whatever comes with it. I couldn't imagine saxp bei g worth as much as that tho? I know it's popular but it's bound to go down bill as there will be less and less Saxo users as saxos get older - or until all saxos eventually die and become a collectors item :p

LSOfreak

the value of saxp was talked about a couple of years ago. Back then it was like £19k if i remember correctly, but a mod commented saying 'it was worth more than that' :detective:

Maybe he wants one that's already established, with plenty of unique hits, ad revenue etc, rather than starting from nothing.

Seriously? Don't think it's that good myself, but it's all we get at work. They refuse to buy Nescafé due to the Church saying they were doing something immoral in Africa or something... I switched off when the woman started telling me about it. I prefer Carte Noir myself though. As for tea, Tetleys Extra Strong or I'm quite liking Yorkshire Tea at the moment.

Yeah mate, just a kettle lol. We get those big Kenco things, probably for places of work. Either way, Kenco isn't that good. Might try some of this hot java lava stuff like if people seem to be raving about it.

For those who dont know, basically coffea berries are eaten by the Asian Palm Civet. The berries then pass through its digestive system and get shit out. Farmers then collect, clean and roast them. These beans are then sold for coffee! :homme:
It is some of the most expensive coffee in the world! lol

Seriously that website that values websites, is valuing it on the amount of pages/view/clicks etc.
There is no way sax-p is worth that much, where would that amount of money come from affiliates/advertisements/premium members. I don't see how all that could add up to anywhere near 75k per year. If this was the case Simo wouldn't be working.

'There are 58317 registered members' obviously not all premium members but how many are?
FurioAndy

I'm gunna say 2000 premium members paying between 10 and 15 quid per year? That's between 20 and 30 grand a year. But then there's running costs etc..

Strong coffee isn't necessarily good coffee. 4 spoons of Nescafé or a decent Ethiopian or Kenyan bean, refined. I know where my money would be going
Ps, do you actually drive a Nissan micra?

how does a website make money? thats website that values them, how does it determine how much its worth?

Still not masses of income, considering time and effort required to run the site, and then hosting fees etc.

It works on the same principals that people use when selling a Saxo. Pure guesswork.

a website can only be valuable if its making a profit. Thats something these valuation sites simply cannot work out. Selling price might simply be profit x 5 years or something.
Overall turnover and traffic is largely meaningless
0rang3peel

traffic is largely meaningless
Traffic's anything but meaningless as an example the student that owned and got severely bummed for owning tvshack.net which did nothing more apart from link to torrents of southpark made thousands per month off advertisements due to traffic.
potatopete
28th March 2012, 11:57
The more traffic a site has, the more any advertiser will pay to advertise on the site.
More hits = more revenue generated.

traffic clicking on ads is different from traffic simply visiting a site.
