Before people answer, I have used search and found so many answers that I'm still clueless.

Basically I want to lower my car, not slam it as such, but so that the gap in arch is fairly smaller. I don't know how low I want to go, but what do I need?

I know the back is lowered with the torsion bar, and I don't want coilovers. So is it just springs? And what sort of price?

I measured down from the arch to were I would like it to sit measure it in milimeters and get roughly the same springs. I wanted my back roughly 65mm lower so I got 60mm lowering springs for the front.

Strictly speaking you need new shocks if your going lower than 40mm, however id always fit new shocks when lowering just for piece of mind knowing the shocks are in good condition, kamracing sell a apex kit for £211.14 best budget kit you can get in a 25,35,50 and 60 mm drop, if you just want springs then its around the £60 mark, or buy second hand off eBay for around £20-30, someone off the forum will charge around £100 to fit springs and lower torsion bars

Well I paid £20 for second hand springs fitted them myself and lowered the beam myself on my shitbox vtr but i wouldn't do it on the cheap for a car I cared about
Do you know how much effort it is to lower a beam £100 is cheap! Some garages charge £300 plus to lower beams also it depends if you want it for looks or to actually handle well

My mate got it done for £50. And I want a bit of both. I don't want it to be so low that I can't drive it every where etc, just so a bus cant park in my arch

Yea I got my beam done for £50 aswell on my vts, but that 100 is to fit springs as well, anyway I'm just guestimating the price there but that's about the going rate for a diy mechanic to do it for you, also remember lowering a beam in a workshop is completely different to getting someone to do it on your drive, most people won't bother offer to do it unless your willing to pay its not worth their time to spend a whole day on a car for pennies

I get what you mean, aslong as it's lower and isn't going to break, im happy.

if you have a disk beam it leads me to believe its on the outer arch where it rubs. easy solution...cut the lip.

mine being cut

You need to cut away at the bumper bracket also and you need to bend the arch out slightly. i had to remove all of the arch upto the top of the side trim.
