Hey guys of course another issue with fixing something haha.
Just wondering. Now ive been told my tappets are hydraulic.
But can i adjust them myself as i really dont want them replaced.
Also if i can are there any shops i could buy the tool from as i was looking at fixing a few problems tomorrow.

8v is not hydraulic, 16v is and are self adjusting, all you need is a set of spanners, screwdriver and a feeler gauge set.

oh and a haynes manual.

Thanx for the reply. I only say they are hydraulic as i got told at a garage that they were :s.
I dont know if i wanna go messin about with it if im being told 2 different things about it not saying anyone is wrong but hard to tell if we cant see lol.
Can i get hold of feelers easy enough or is it going to be a case of ordering some?
Ive seen on another thread that vtr's need adjusting to 0.20mm on the inlet and 0.40mm on the exhaust.
Is that about right?

you have rockers with a bolt and locking nut on the end, hydraulic tappets in most pug engines sit directly under the cam with no rockers.

get to a motorfactor.
