hey all, ive fitted 15s on my saxo Furio. they look nice, and now im obviously wanting to lower the car. I had a check and the back will handle -50mm fine, but at the front i am worried that the tire will tap the arches when i go over bumps etc. There is just over 50mm between the flat tyre face and the archway, so should i lower 40mm? i dont want to roll arches or remove the liners so what should i do to avoid any arch bumping?
cheers all

Go 60 and pull out the arch liners, its not hard work and its easy to seal the back up. You wont get any rubbing and it will look the best by far.

5mm won't make much difference mate you should be ok with 50 profile! but IMO i wouldn't lower it any more than 40mm all round, if you lower the back more than the front, then your welcoming lift-off oversteer, which is well NOT GOOD!

Dont say that Oli i dont want to beleive you! Im still in 2 minds in where to go from 40 to 50 on the back.

there was some logic in why citroen made the rear higher than the front! it will handle poorly if you drop the back lower than the front!

Dont lower the back more then the front, just lower it all by 60mm, if it is done properly it will handle amazingly.

:D: cause it won't!! plus your gonna wear your dampers out like nobody's buisness, also bear in mind, you will struggle with some speed bumps, and if your drive has a lip on it, you may catch that with your skirts!

lol, makes me laugh were people think there is this divide between looks and handling. Look at any prof. racing saxo, they are all lowered ATLEAST 60mm, If you do not lower the back to much and keep the ration between the front and back 60 works perfectly for handling. How will it wear out your dampers more, buy a full suspension kit and you wont have any problems.

i would never lower a car on standard shocks, just my opinion.
The shocks were designed to work with those springs if you know what i mean.
