Umpulse bought this car on ebay around 120 miles from me, took a right gamble but she turned out alright and got me home without missing a beat! :drink:
How ever it did have its down sides, it apears the 35 year old bloke i bought it off whod owned it since 2004 went through a bit of a mid life crisis with her..
http://i1066.photobucket.com/albums/u416/W343NNA/f.jpg
Also found this in the boot that wasnt advertised :homme:
http://i1066.photobucket.com/albums/u416/W343NNA/23.jpg
So after getting it home i decided to give it a bath and polish at shell at about 1 in the morning lol!
http://i1066.photobucket.com/albums/u416/W343NNA/2.jpg
The following day fitted a Piper 4 into 1 manifold and the full stainless kam racing system removed the lexus lights and i then drove up to manchester to fetch some oz supperleggeras in 16" with 40 profile proxes and about an inch of stretch like laggy bands!
I then went to my local scrappy and picked up a splitter off some random car and 206 gti pedals for £10
http://i1066.photobucket.com/albums/u416/W343NNA/1.jpg
http://i1066.photobucket.com/albums/u416/W343NNA/pedals-1.jpg
I then spent the rest of the day fitting the splitter wich wasnt to much of a bad fit went quite smoothly to say it was of somthing like a KIA lol! i also cut out the slats in the grill and sprayed it gloss black

http://i1066.photobucket.com/albums/u416/W343NNA/dddd.jpg
The following day i wasnt happy with the front bumper so attacked it again!
http://i1066.photobucket.com/albums/u416/W343NNA/55.jpg
Then i took it along to Mandyslover, ( jason at saxoparts ) who lowerd her and fitted new wish bones drop links track rod ends top mounts and other stuff that i canot remember ! for a verry good price, didnt get any photos as then it was time to set off to fastshow! but not before fitting the black painted headlights!

sounds like a good plan of action! leathers are by far the best mod for the inside! and i do like the front bumper alot, did the inlet and throttle bodie make that much of a difference? would you change the injectors to vtr ones? (dont know if they are different or not)

4th April 2012, 09:41
Oh my days mate vtr inlet and injectors is what iv done, the things really leary twinned with the exhaust and induction, i was running a BMC CDA induction kit, iv swapped it out for a pipercross open cone with a decent air feed it its so much more snappy than with the bmc fitted aswell, i think im going to get a fuel pressure regulator and a air fuel ratio guage see whats going on and try and squeez as much as i can out this 1.4
How ever valver and leathers would finish this off nicely
This is one of the turinis iv re sprayed

Thanks for the coments guys , Vtr inlet and injectors ? i have no idea what sort of estimate on gains iv had a play with my freinds vtr and it pretty much sticks on his arse, infact im nudging him out of the way at times up till around 60, id say if anything its gained alot more low down torque ill have to get myself along to a rolling road day and see what its achieved!,
And god yes i couldnt justify driving it round looking how it did when i bought it i felt like putting a bag over my head just driving it home!
Im going to try and find out what splitter it is and see if you can still buy them new from the manufacturer
If anyone wants the bumper wide mouthing im also happy to do that for a small charge i quite enjoy doing it theres some bad news today tho :(
Just got back from ikea and it feels verry dangeriouse to drive the steering wheels wobling under acceleration also pulling verry violently to the right and some horrid noises and clunks when i turn coming from the right im hoping its just a drive shaft but never heard a shaft make noise like that before!
http://i1066.photobucket.com/albums/u416/W343NNA/45.jpg I'am in love with that picture! Looks amazing IMO.

Thanks mate, seen your car at fast show looked awesom!
Update, Uploaded some pictures from when i changed the drive shaft, it was making some right dirty noises in the end on turning sharp ish, but it drove absolutly fine no nocking or anything only turning sharp it was making really high pitched squeaks bangs nocks etc
http://i1066.photobucket.com/albums/u416/W343NNA/shaft.jpg
:fcuk:
Then yesterday i set about removing that gigantic subwoofer, I checked the boot floor for rust, wasnt anything to be worried about its had a patch welded on the drivers side at some point in its life but both sides passed the hammer test, so i applied some seam sealer on both sides to keep things fresh then spray glued some nice sound deadening on both side walls and double layerd the boot floor then re trimmed it all in black fabric including the back slam panel and i think it looks awesome! :A: then on top of the sound deadening i re trimmed the standard floor matt and bought a standard parcelshelf :drink:

Iv got a soft spot for mangos im afriad dude, had a blue furio as my first car wich was sadly wrote off from behind leaving me with a spinal injury, I had a real love for my first furio was really attached to it and tbh, this one i dont no i dont like seing it as it reminds me of my frist car sounds stupid but duno

Well it just looks like this car is cursed.. Not long back, i hit a traffic cone at around 70mph that some clever chap decided to put in the middle of a country road resulting in W343NNA looking like this...
http://i1066.photobucket.com/albums/u416/W343NNA/ouch.jpg
So Theres no pictures in between, but after the cone incident, she was stripped down and had a new lower slam panel spot welded on ( old one drilled out and replaced) and then painted, And tbh, yesterday she was looking stunning!
Well after a long month of getting the car ready to sell, she was in pretty much imaculate condition, since i bought my mango, i have leant W343NNA to my freind who has in return polished and fixed bits and bobs in order to sell her,
Well today Around 7 oclock im casually having a poo, when theres a nock at the door where im greated by one of my freinds, suprised to see her as its unlike her to come to mine. " I need a word". Oh god what now ?, No seriously. its luke, and so the conversation goes on to soon im doing a 8 mile drive to descover well i cant really bear to explain, so heres the pictures.

http://i1066.photobucket.com/albums/u416/W343NNA/IMG_0363.jpg
so urm, yeah I could cry.. And you know what really really really gets me, It was in EXACLY literally, EXACLY give or take 2 foot, The same spot i hit the traffic cone..
Basicly,
random car going oposit way, drops a balloon out the window, Woman in micra infront of W343NNA, swerves out of the way of the balloon, then indicates right into a resurant road, Luke slows down and is sat behind the woman in the micra waiting to turn right.
Guy in fiesta behind W343NNA, his exact words " I saw the balloon, I aimed for it, then i looked in my rear view for a while to see if i popped it" Then all of a sudden i saw the que slammed on and then BANG
Gues im glad i didnt fit my pro refurbed anthrosite VTS wheels like i was planning yesterday!
Very awquard situation for me know tho. I leant the car my freind, the car is insured in his name Third party fire and theft, the cars in my name on the logbook, and the car has been recoverd by his insurance to my house, How ever. Im now without a car that i was aiming to sell for £1200 +, Hes had to pay £250 acess, and hes insured the car for £500...
Where the hell do i stand with regards to getting whats technicly owed to me,
Im going to go cry myself to sleep now :(
blacksaxodevil
31st May 2012, 00:47
unfortunately my friend sorry to say it but you stand no where in regards to insurance apart from going through yours to get whats owed to you but that will hit you big time, the only other way is to take the fella who hit your car to court, your mate though will have to go with you and also though the judge will probably either throw it out as really its your mates fault and yours for making sure he insured it for the right value. but as it wasnt his fault the blame lies with the other driver, he no doubt will get done for dangerous driving, driving without due car and attention so could face a massive fine if the police were or are involved. if it was me i would be kicking my mate in the head for one and then making sure he paid you what the car is worth.
I would want the full money for the car.....
Gutting though she was sexy :(
blacksaxodevil
31st May 2012, 00:53
im sorry to say it but its what happened to me about 5 years ago and trust me i learnt my lesson but so did my mate as i took him to small claims court and one the case, he got ordered to pay me the full cost of car £4500 and all my court costs £1000. as you can imagine we are no longer friends as he said i shouldnt of taken him to court as it was my fault for not making sure he insured my car so he could drive at the right price. joke right not.!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
blacksaxodevil
31st May 2012, 00:54
insurance is a game of two kinds, right or wrong. and this time it was the friends wrong choice and he/she will have to pay in my mind
blacksaxodevil
31st May 2012, 00:56
also i hope ur mate had it down as modified, eg. the wheels as if not he technically aint insured anyway
W343NNA
31st May 2012, 00:58
Its alright saying, Kick my mate in the head, and make him give me the full money for the car, But what if it was you borrowing a car, or even say a work car or van
And your just driving along, stop for a car turning right infront of you and then your smashed into by a prick whos more botherd about looking at a balloon in his rear view,
The guys some how got away with it as the blame is being passed onto the person who threw the balloon in the first place. wich i think is outrageouse!!
Even if my car was insured for £1200, id get book price wich is probs around £350. so im HOPING to buy the car back, its dumped on my drive awaiting insurance inspection, wich i think is also rediculas as to keep it at an impound they wanted somthing around £160 PER NIGHT!!, oh and im not alowed to touch it or take anything off...
I want to stip it, its my car i want my head unit speakers, brand new wishbones drop links roll bar bushes top mounts discs and pads etc etc thats all been fitted a few weeks back, i dont get how i some how have to "buy the car back" before im alowed to touch it ! anyone had this before ?
Take the beam off for the mango ;)
Even if it was not your mates fault its the risk he toke, if you was getting £1200 what ever you get through insurance he should top you up IMO.
baker556
31st May 2012, 01:39
Is there any point in claiming for £250 after the excess is paid?
blacksaxodevil
31st May 2012, 02:02
the point is your mate fraudulantly insured the car, if it was worth £1500 or so he should of insured it for that. as said i have had this before on my mk4 golf gti i had that was only 4 years old at time it was worth £4500 i lent it to a mate who only insured it for like £1000 to try and get his insurance lower on it which he did by like £100 a year ended up being hit by another person up the back. his insurance would only pay out £1000 not the £4500 even after 2 years of court proceedings etc the court ruled in favour of his insurance and said i should be careful on what people are insuring my car for and that if i wanted any form of compensation i had to take him to the small claims court which i did and won getting another £4500 and all court costs and solicitors fees paid for.
blacksaxodevil
31st May 2012, 02:10
also its ok saying what if i borrowed a works vehicle etc. i would hope the place i worked insured the car under the business policy and i was insured on it to drive and its there problem then. not mine, not yours. this is the reason why we have insurance and they tell you that if any fraudulant details are used, cheaper price for car etc....... then it could void the insurance and also the person insuring the car is at fault thats even if the insurance will pay out. also insurance payouts are taking alot longer know so you could be waiting some time. sorry to say it but admittadly the other driver was in the wrong but insuring the car incorrectly in the first place is a lesson to be learnt........ we can all bitch and moan but its the owners/ drivers responsibility for insuring it taxing it moting it and these all need to be done in regards to law and the select agencies who work along side insurance companies. eg. dvla, vosa, police, highway patrol. etc etc. you asked for advise and your being given it but you dont like it well life is shit my friend. and your fellow mate is in the wrong so is the driver who hit your car but its like i said he will get his commupance at court if you informed police and your friend will get away with it if your not prepared to follow up any other form of legal action. did your friend get legal cover if he did he will need to talk to them and explain his reasons for not insuring the car properly also you could seek legal advise and see where you stand but i pretty much gaurantee they will tell you what i have.
blacksaxodevil
31st May 2012, 02:17
also in regards to the insurance not letting you strip the car yet that is true technically you cant but its up to you. personally its if the car was insured to have subs, amps etc in anyway you can claim for all that aswell if not then i would take them out and say it didnt have an uprated sound system in. eg justy like anything else that wasnt declared on insurance either yours or his. wheels, lowered suspension etc etc but you will have to put back on whatever the insurance knows about so if its meant to be standard then you will need to put it to standard. but as i guess they have your address etc they could send an engineer round anytime.
i dont know what the car is insured under im just letting know how these things happen in my opinion and how they have happened to me in the past. im not being smart about it but you did ask the question where you stood and as a lot of people including all the legal people is not very good at the mo. £1200 car insured a only £500 value and an excess to pay but he should get excess back from other drivers insurance. also the car in front of yours that also was involved will have to claim of ur mates insurance and then they will claim that of the bloke who hit your car

But, in this case it does not matter. The car behind was at fault. His insurance company will pay out for the damage - the car will be valued and written off and your mate will get a settlement. He should be giving you money for the car whether it leaves him slightly out of pocket or not.

Doesn't matter what it's insured for if it's insured
From what I read it wasn't his fault? So it shouldbe the other drivers cover that pays for the car?
Or have I miss read something
Edit- I only read the first two replies lol, seems kam beat me to it ha ha
Tell your mate to claim for whiplash while he's on.. Every cunt else does so may aswel take advantage while he can, and then he can give you any money your short if hes short
This is why I hate borrowing cars, it's not a nice situation to be on

admittadly it is the person who hit your cars fault but insurance has a lot of say in how much they pay out. the persons insurance who hit your car will contact your friends insurance and ask what the car is valued at and then look at the book figure of said car to find one of similar spec, age, mileage etc and wether it was insured as modified etc or not. if not the engineer will right a report saying it was modified and insurance states it wasnt then its bye bye any form of pay out as was a fraudulant insurance. insurance companies will find any way of not paying. as it is down to the insured driver to make sure its correct. im not saying it wasnt its just the way insurance works nowadays but try and see what happens

exactly what I was thinking when that idiot was writing useless essays.
He will be claiming from the other guys insurance, who if they decide the blame is from the balloon throwers need to claim off that person for his damage and the claim they'll pay for yours.
you don't need to worry about him insuring it for a lower value as he's not at fault.
You can argue the valuation you get for your car anyway so that all should be good in the hood.
