Just a quick one here, I've fitted a rallye s1 box to my VTR but I've noticed that fith is a lot "closer" to third than it was on the VTR box. By this I mean the gear stick physically moves less distance over to the right when going into fifth. Any one else found this when using a rallye box or similar?

probably just got less play in the selector roll pin on the new box

Could be that but I do feel 3rd is close to fith still, surely the pin would be affecting the others too. Its not a major problem you can still get gears very easily, just have to remember to keep pressure on the stick to the right when getting fifth instead of mishifting to third.
If you imagine these crude diagrams to be a "normal" box, say vtr or whatever
1 -- 3 -- 5
2 -- 4 -- R

My Rallye one feels like this, with the lack of spacing depicting the shorter throw :

1 -- 3-5
2 -- 4 -- R
