argghh feckin car !!

driving along tonight , left my pals house and moved off....changed to 2nd gear and went to change to 3rd when i was just about changed i heard a rather loud ratteling noise and thought nothing of it... got to about 3k revs in 3rd gear and heard it again. slowed down changed to 2nd and done it again so i stopped and the whole car was jumpy and shakein,


any idea's folks ?

its only after 2k revs though...and it all of a sudden jumps amd judders wen idleing but no mad noise wen revvin in neutral

took it to a garage today and they says theres low compression in cylinders 1 + 2 and it may be head gasket , i dont think it is because i blew it before and i was always toping up the water for ages before it and i didnae lose power till i had smoke out the back, also it didn't rattle its cunt off wen driving.... could it possibley be a valve bent or sometihng like that ?

happened to me and it was the coil pack99% sure it will be its the exact same problem i had,replace your spark plugs and leads also

infact m8 im dead certain its ur coil pack as mine was only running 2 cylinders the car was shakin like mad and it wasnt taking the throttle i suggest u get a new set of spark plugs leads and a coil pack i got mine all for 100 quid including fitting

plus i changed the coil pack just before my gasket blew or just after it , still have it in my room cause it was no different so i put the old one back on to sell the new one, just havent got round to it

ur car has problems m8 lol if it is running on 2 cylinders the car wil shake yes,wen you press the throttle quick does it respond quick or does it splutter backfire and take its time?

it splutters and takes its time and it also sounds like a tank as if there is a hole in the exhaust somewhere... but there isnt as it only started when it juddered and stuff

try the lamba sencer mate mines just gone like that sort of to what your saying its my cat its fucked gf dad pluged his comp in it and it said its the lamba sencer it ant your head gasket or low compression when the cars runing mate smell the fumes i no it sounds silly but if it smells sweet it could be the head gasket because the water mixes and makes it smell sweet any way look at the sencer mate

also is the car back fireing mate ? as mine is .

just had a second opinion and he says head gasket also :( , he says because the last time i fryed it i never got it skimmed its caught up on me and happened again...now i have to get it skimmed and sent away to get pressure tested or something costing about £100 for both then the labour and gasket charges im looking at £300-ish , i asked about firing a vts head on and he reckons it would fit straight on but i would need a ecu and wiring loom...

how much does anyone think i could get this gear for? if its not gonna be much more than £300 im seriously gonna think about it.

this car is on its second head,get it plugged in on a diagnostics computer,could also be the injectors m8 the previous owner of my car had same problemas and it was the injectors,do you run the car low on fuel alot?if so that will take up dirt from the tank and block them,think you need to go to a propa citreon garage or get it plugged on a diagnostic cimputer,dont want to spend money that may not be required,seen it happen before...

well when u mention it i do deliverys so its always on the light so im not bumpin myself out of petrol money at the end of the night when we split the takings , i recently put in £10 of petrol and it started its shite with poppin and splurting , i ran it almost empty and filled but everytime im puttin more fuel in its mixing with the drity fuel ?

When i took the cap of the radiator earlier the inside of it was bright orange but then i checked the oil cap and there was no yellow goo shit.

aww man this car frys my head never mind 2 gaskets in 6 months , wouldn't wish it upon my worst enemy !

In theory you should be better off that you regularly run your petrol low as it wont have as much time to build up the deposits at the bottom of your tank..

Have you done all the basic checks.. I heard of similar problems and it turned out to be dodgy or loose spark plugs and it took people a long time to work it out!

You could get some Wynn's injector cleaner too and give that a bash..

i agree with fred if its gonna cost £300 for a new gasket try doing the cheap stuff first plugs injector cleaner lamba but one thing at a time or youll never know what it is and end up replacing everything

And I'm not sure I'd trust the mechanic who says you can just bolt on a 16v head..
