I want to keep my standard lights on my mk 1 vtr What bulbs do u reccomend to replace the candles that I have at the mo ? Any links would be good to.

i have the 120% Ring ultimas in the Leon at the minute, i will be changing to HIDS and probs putting the ultimas in the R6 untill i get the headlight conversion sorted for that.

but i would reccomend the OSRAMs over the ultimas tbh. same kind of light / brightness / distance but more of a white colour.

for out and out lumens the osram are very good and so are the philips xtreme. Though i tend to go for all seasons bulbs as lets face it rain, fog and snow are not exactly uncommon in the UK.

But do the Osrams give a "Xenon-look" lightbeam?

I currently use MTEC Super White. They do have a nice Xenon beam, but the light output is quite shitty. :/

The only way to get that xenon look from a standard type bulb is to get one that has the tint.
The only problem with this is with the tint you are blocking out most of the light spectrum to gain the blue/white effect which inevitably causes a decrease in light output. It's a case of either style or substance unless you opt for hid demons where you get both better light and the "cool" light colours

I can vouch for the Phillips Extreme +80% bulbs, I had a set in my R75 and my fathers almera and they were brilliant, the light throw was a good 10ft further and usable over the standard bulbs.

They were also white, not xenon white, but almost.
