Just about to order some stuff from My Protein :D

Ive heard a lot about these BCAA's and they are needed for helping protein synthesis (sp) building muscle and keeping muscle :y:


Basically, how many do people take a day and when?

Just want to know which bottle to order? 90 or 270.

Think the powder works out cheaper although it tastes like utter shit and doesn't mix too well, but I think you generally have to take a fair bit. I seem to remember reading about how much DusheR was taking and it seemed ridiculously expensive if you were to take the equivalent in capsules.

So thats 6 a day, train 5 days a week = 30 tabs.

Think Ill be getting the 270 tub then :p

In the past, i've prefered powered form. Tablets are a lot easier though.

EDIT: Found it on my protein, the reviews also state that the mixability is rubbish. May just take the tablets instead :D

I got powder because the capsules seemed expensive and I didn't want to chuck money away for the sake of manning up, but my god I wished I hadn't. Noticed a few people seemingly using capsule makers to make their own caps though, didn't look in to it any further than that however.

Capsules are fine if taking 6 a day, i've been doing that dosage for about 8 months. If results slow or I need to up the intake (ie during cutting) then I'll move to powder.

I used the powder as I have 20g each weight training session. Taking that many tabs would be a pain and Ive heard reports of MP's tablet BCAA's tend not to digest that well at that dosage.

I have 5g preworkout, 10g intraworkout and 5g postworkout. I honestly never taste it.

Pre goes with jack3d etc, intra I have with Vit C disolvable tabs from tesco and post goes in with my shake. Doesnt mix well but just gets necked.

Recovery XS wasn't all that good for me... Tasted alright, mixed alright, but runs out extremely quick. Didn't really feel any different with it though. Might be different for you.

Cheers Dave, some bodybuilder in work has been telling me to use the Recovery XS for ages but I just havent bought any. He has always used it and thinks it's great.

May be good for me but may not, only one way to find out :y:

If your just starting I would say get the tabs and take 3 before and 3 after. I only take the ammount I do because Im about 250lbs.

Lol, too late now :p

Ive just ordered the powder BCAA :A: Obvs I won't be taking as much as you to start with :D

Also, Im not just starting. Been gyming it for a while now, on and off. But Im no n00b but ive never taken supplements like this, just protein whey. Thought it was time up the supps a little :D

Just a big lump mate aye ha. Around 15%, can still see abs but Im weird like that. Mine show through quite well. Around 6'3"-4"

Start my cut next week! Still trying to recover from the easter weekend!

It varies, mostly just after a workout but I tend to take them a lot more when injured, the main reason I use them is recovery and to heal :)

Thanks guys, my stuff still hasnt arrived!! Fingers crossed it comes today and Ill start it all after them gym :D

Need to get some Diet Whey protein, myprotein seems to be the cheapest around :y:

Well all my stuff arrived yesterday :y:

So straight after the gym I tried some Revovery XS + BCAA in a shake.

The recovery xs smells and tastes nice but the BCAA powder smells horrible and doesnt taste that nice once mixed with the XS. I manned up and downed it though lol
