Anyone got theirs protected? How much did your insurance go up after protecting it?
Just about to get 6 years NCB and thinking I should get it done. Is it worth it?

If I had enough to protect them I would.

Well some companies only count 5 years NCB. When you get over 5 years some companies only reduce you back down to 3 or 5 years for a crash.
But if you say it made fuck all difference Tonts I might as well!

I've got 11 years NCB and have it protected
Only added a few quid to my policy with Flux,
but it did add an extra £100 to my excess :homme:

obviously it will vary for everyone... but in my case whats a few quid, when 4-5ncb make a few 00 quid difference.
but then, once you have 5+ years, over 25, NCB appear to make no difference anyway or if so marginal.

I just got 4 years and they wanted an extra £70 quid I think, with admiral. Didn't bother.

I have 6 years guranteed no claims with admiral. With their protected level they only allow you to make 3 claims in 2 years before they sting you. Guranteed level allows unlimited claims. Cost me an extra £20 odd on an annual policy.

Mine is protected, went from £430 to just over £500 I think.
Worth the £70 as it will cost me a lot more than that if I were to lose it!
Im 24, 4 years NCB.
Will be 5 in October so they allow you to guarantee it then, havent read up on the difference though I must admit!

I have about 14 years NCB and I always protect it, it's usually about 10% of the policy value, but I crash loads!

No insurance company ever mentioned to me about protecting it after 5 years. :/ thought they would as it's more money? Hmmm....

Its not if you crash though is it? you don't protect it, they lose 30 quid there.
You crash, they bump your premium up a few hundred, so they make money there.
To protect mine (I should have 5 now but I had to cancel my policy to get one for the civic, so only have 4 :(- about to be 5 in a couple of months.) it was about 30 quid. I'll do it this when I do hit 5, aslong as I don't crash before then.

0 NCB ftw!
0? You crash the fezza?

Nope. I'm too good to crash. I've only ever been a named driver so apparently it doesn't count as no claims even though I've never claimed :S

Neither did I. Lol. It was quite a blow when I did a quote on something recently and had to go back to say I had none! The quote increased by around £6,000. Yaaaaaaaaay :panic:
