What would a weekend be without some pics of cars racing. This time: drifting. And a bit drag racing.

Fred, can you post a pic that you haven't run through photoshop? I just want to see what sort of stuff you are doing.

Nont having a dig, your technique is spot on, just that these look a little bit over processed on my monitor.

Will do when I'm home Dave.

I've been very carefull with the contrast/saturation after your (and Rob's) replies.

It's funny though.. I posted these on the dutch Canon forum as well and no one there thought they were over saturated.
Not taking it as a dig btw. Your comments are just a way to make my pics better.

No problem Fred, it looks like an overcast day there with flat light, so colours like that will be difficult to record...

Not completely fair because I set the in camera parameter to setting 2 which mean there not colour/contrast/sharpness added in the camera and standard there is.

Jim, just use Firefox and download the Opanda exif viewer here. (http://www.opanda.com/en/iexif/)
Install it and you can just right-click on any pic to view the exif (if it's included).

General info: All the pics are shot with a 70-200 F/4L + 1.4x TC. The panning shots are Tv setting with shutter speeds between 1/60 and 1/125.

Lol! That car has over 1200 bhp on the lowest boost setting btw and way over 2000 on standard boost. And it driven on the road :fcuk:

Hmmm I should go to Trax sometime... maybe next year.

Im still trying to resist post-processing... but then again, I still dont know how to use the camera properly!

Either way... great pics again Fred. :A:

Everyone does post-processing Simo, even (or should I say especially?) the pro's. Even you, in your case the camera does a bit for you. ;)

Nope. Contrast (by levels adjustment, left and right slider only) and USM (hight pass). That's all. No saturation adjustment.

I prefer your processed shot Fred... dont get me wrong.

I just dont think I have the time and patience to process images in bulk... and you cant assume all images in a folder require the same processing.

BTW - Ive seen a couple of you boffins talking about custom function 4... what is it? A programmable function? Or a pre-programmed selectable function?

Please spill the beans :P

Frevo

It's a pre-programmed selectable function.

And you can do some ps stuff with a batch. For something like USM 300/2/0 you use the same setting for every pic and a simple curve or something doesn't hurt either.
