lowering HELP!

hello, im just wondering if someone can tell me whats everything i need to lower my car correctly about 60mm as im basically a noob with all this and want to have everything and not miss much off many thanks

There is a guide for lowering the torsion bar.

the front is done by springs, some people reccomend that if you lower more than 50 you should get uprated shocks as the standard ones wont hold out very well , (although mine is dropped 50mm and I have standard shocks)! hope this helps

Sorry to hijack thread, but what is 'many problems' ?

I'm planning on getting mine dropped on standard shocks soon, only temporarily until funding allows an upgrade.

Proper job: 60mm springs, uprated dampers front and rear, torsion bar/rear beam lowered to suit

Cheap way: 60mm springs and torsion bar/rear beam lowered to suit

Average price for the torsion bar to be lowered properly is around £70 - £80

If i were you i wouldnt even entertain the idea of doing the torsion bar yourself unless you've done enough of them to actually know what you're doing. The smallest thing can go wrong and cause such a big problem... Lets just say one feck up and you're without a car.

Leave it to a professional, at least for the first time so it can be done properly, greased up and easy to do yourself after the initial lowering.

I charge £60 for the rear and £30 to fit springs.

well i have messaged a guy on here who lives near me and everyone is talking about him and he charges £60, but ive also heard off alot of people that when you lower the torsion bar it collapses in not much time at all and the wheels start to camber on the rear, is there a way to prevent this?

its because it gets lowered by knocking the arms off then adjusting the height. if its done that way(the way i know how to do it) you would be as well changing the bearings etc and there won't be any problems in the near future

so i need new bearings for the torsion bar, lowering springs for the front and then uprated dampers for the front and the back cause il be lowering about 50/60mm, are dapers the same as shocks then? and is there anything else i will need for a decent job

maybe keep standard shocks on the rear so its stiffer and can have people in the back and then new ones for the front would that work?
