My gti failed its mot on the rear beam last week and have ordered a refurbed one to replace it. Just wondering how long roughly it takes to swap over, Im talking about on a driveway etc not in a workshop?

cheers

An hour and half

2-3 hours cos it never comes off easily. You'll need an extra pair of hands.

make sure you get a 11mm brake pipe spanner will save you so much time :y:

I did it the other weekend, well putting it back on! as I'd had it off to do the bushes.

a brake spanner is a must!

2 jacks, axle stands and probs another set of hands

don't bother disconnecting the brakes, just hang it all out of the way, saves buckets of grief

If everything went smoothly then maybe 1-2 hours but it generally never does so I would say 2-4 hours.
