hiya fellow saxo people

my saxo has started making 1 hell of a racket
when idling my car makes a noise very like a tappet rattle
with my head under the bonnet the is coming from the gearbox side
sounds is where engine meets gearbox.
its gets very loud when driving but i have no loss of power or misfire in anyway

oh btw yes i'm a newbie to this but thanks to all before hand

any help would be most welcome and thanks again

im no expert, but could it be something to do with the clutch release bearing?

hiya mate
thanks for the reply
i dont believe its that due to there is no difference between pressing and releasing the clutch pedal . i'm no expert either lol
there is a sensor on front of the gearbox which when removed you cant start the car
and the noise is not there ( is there anyway to by pass the sensor ? )

its worth just checking everything is tight around the engine.noises are very deceiving in a way you think there coming from a particular place and turns up being somewere else.the clutch bearing on saxos are crap..and even new ones can make a racket..have you looked at the inspection plate at the bottom of the gear box.
