i meet up with navyvtr earlier and showed him my induction kit on my wee ikkle 1.1 When I lifted the bonnet I found the jubilee clip had worked itself loose some how ( maybe i didn't tighten it enough ) and the kit had worked itself at an angle leaving a big gap were it should've been sat. Could this:

A - effect my performance

B - Cause quicker fuel consumption because I've noticed my fuel gauge getting empty quicker just recently.

I've put it back on properly and tightened it up again but I'm worried in case dirt has got in I need some advice

prob none of them, performance wouldn't be effected as where the filter is it will only be sucking hot air any way

i would have thought will affect performance, more dirty air getting in as its not being filtered and i wouldnt know about the fuel consumption though but i wouldnt be suprised if it was

It should be performing better and therefore using more fuel, due to the reduction in restriction in the airflow.. Err..

But I wouldn't worry fella.. Plenty of people run throttle bodies without any sort of filtration for thousands of miles.. At the end of the day they will require a rebuild sooner, but unless your induction kit has been like this for years then I wouldn't worry!

Bit of a hijack people, but i have a Gen 1 K&N filter and its right up the top wehere the hot air is. Where can i buy the tubes to take it all the way to the front of the car? Or will i need a specific kit?
