Hi all,
I'm looking at doing my car this week. I have the time and I want to go over it very well, inside and out. The interior is pretty spotless and anything that is looking dirty I can sort with a steamer.
For the exterior I have the following in mind:
Rinse
Wash with AutoGlym Shampoo and Conditioner
Clay bar-arise!
Another was with AutoGlym Shampoo and Conditioner
Polish with AutoGlym super resin polish
****
Where **** is some form of protection. I would like to give the Saxo a good finish whereby it looks glossy and deep in reflection. So this thread is about suggestions on the best product.
On top of that, if anyone knows the usual delivery dates from PolishedBliss I would be grateful to hear about them.
Thanks guys and girls.

Thanks Saunders, I will take a look.
Just to note, I've no problem paying for high quality products. I want my car spanking and pretty much "sealed" so to speak.

Chris, just have to tell you. Your Furio is sexy! Brilliant work, a great inspiration to those of us that want to mod.

If wet and glossy is what you want, skip the Autoglym SRP, and go with a coat of Blackfire Gloss Enhancing Polish followed by a coat or two of Blackfire Wet Diamond. This will blow your socks off - wet, glossy and massive levels of protection. Plus it's all dead easy to use. If you order tomorrow, the goods will be shipped the next day by overnight courier and therefore should get to you by the weekend. :)

you could try the following to seal the paint before adding wax:
- klasse All In One
- Autoglym EGP
- Meg's polymer sealant
i think polished bliss sell them all.

Damn you PB, you're going to put me out of pocket. Just ordered the Gloss enhancing polish, should be here by the weekend giving me time to work on my car other than the exterior cleaning process.
What do you think of this process:
Wednesday (Today) and Thursday:
Hoover and steam parts of interior
Clean inside of windows and mirror
Steam boot, getting rid of dirt and grime -- eww!
(More Thursday)
Clean inside of doors
Clean any unusual spots like pedals (Try get them shinning)
Friday:
A quick rinse over body work
A jet wash over body work, and under the car -- for the most part
Detail all small areas, removing grit and stones (Sun roof, skirts etc)
Heavy but smooth wash
Dry
Clay-arise
Wash, lightly, only need to get rid of clay bar solution
Dry
Polish (One coat of Blackfire Gloss Enhancing Polish)
Sealant (One coat of Blackfire Wet Diamond)
Why would I want to do more than a single coat of Blackfire Wet Diamond?
Pics will be taken before work has started and at different stages. Looking at doing a blog so will be worth while. In fact, I am going to be keeping a blog of all mods I do to my Furio (Which will eventually contain a VTR engine) -- this should be interesting. First car (baby), first mods, scared ;)

I'm frequently damned... but just wait until you see the results. Process looks spot on, get pics all the way through the process and submit them to the August show n shine comp on my site - you might get some payback.
PS - one coat of Wet Diamond will be enough, just top up every 4-6 weeks for best possible results.

Thanks Polish. Sadly I didn't get any pics of my cars exterior and I only have my phone as a camera so not sure what the quality will be like however I will give it a shot.
Got 8 hours of work ahead of me cleaning, so I best crack on.

Actually no ;-).
I've done a bloody good wash and at the moment (Over the past 3 days) I have been claying it to death trying to get rid of all tar and oxidised spots. I tell you what, it's not an easy job but rewarding. I'm off work at the moment and I can see a good 2 - 3 more days of claying to get rid of all the tar spots and lines on the skirts, lower parts of the doors and bumpers.
Some of the tar just wont go, no matter how hard I try -- my old man said to give TCUT a shot -- what do you think?

few more days of claying jesus

7th August 2006, 14:10
Total of 5 days claying to get rid of all dots that don't suit my car. This car is going to be damn right cleaned!
I'm just beginning to loose the whole look on "clay bar" for "tar removing" as it's becoming a hefty job. Works well in removing stains, bugs splatter and pretty much making it a solid clean but when it comes to removing tar, well I'm on my second bottle and have yet to do my bumpers, skirts, wheel arches and sides of the bonnet.

Well I am actually not too good, in terms of wellness so lack of muscle, yeah that sound about right.
In regards to getting the pics up, hell no! I want my baby shinning away before I do so.

Some tar spotting can be a bugger to shift. If I find the clay is struggling I usually hit the panels with Panel Wipe or Tar and Glue Remover, then rinse it again before finishing off with the clay. It sounds like you have a massive tar spot problem, I'd consider an alternative to claying to get rid of the worst of it first. :)

I've got my self some Turtle Wax Tar and Bug Remover. I will give that a shot, then rinse and give the claying another go and see how it works out. I will continue to finish the car before I start worrying about those bugger of bits. I can make them fade, which is always a good thing but they have almost "stained" the paint work.
As of the end of tonight I wish to have the claying done so that I can:
1. Rinse
2. Chamois
3. Polish
4. Sealant (Will two coats bring out a deeper glossy shine?)
Once I have done that I need to do the windows, Back to Black and then can take some pictures for you all to admire ;-).
I predict a good 8 hours left for the exterior of my car. Future work includes:
- Claying and polishing the inlays of the doors and boots
- Cleaning the engine and bonnet underlay (polish the bonnet underlay)
- Cleaning interior with Back to Black -- will be done this week
I'm so excited about the possible outcome that I may be sick.

Lol, just don't yack on the car. Two coats of sealant won't make a noticeable difference - it just protects the finish given by the polish, albeit adding a bit more wetness with the first coat. Multiple coats add protection, rather than extra gloss. :)

Thanks to PB my third bottle of quick detailer will be here tomorrow. Bloody fantastic service and I recommend them to anyone -- No wait, to everyone!
Looking forward to putting some pics of me baby up, you guys will love 'em -- if you don't, I have some clay I would like to throw at you, lots of it. I mean it. Don't piss me off ;-)
