Well, i've just bought a new car

It's a bit of an upgrade from my old car.
http://i1155.photobucket.com/albums/p558/TomOmorton/upload12.jpg
I never really did anything to this car as it was slow as fu*k anyway and i couldn't really be bothered to keep funnelling money into it, seemed like a waste. So i was patient and kept with the 1400 for a few (3) years.
I have a few plans for the VTS and I plan to keep this blog updated etc... As i didn't really keep any track of my 106.
Its had a few bits done to it so far:
Lowered 60mm all round on Spax dampers and springs
4-2-1 Mani
Decat Pipe
Mintex grooved brakes all round
Proffessionally sprayed "Anthracite Grey" wheels
6000k H.I.D.s
I will try my hardest to keep this updated ;)

The quiksilver has gone, i just fancied something a bit quicker, a bit newer and insurance has gone down to an affordable amount :).
I've got a few plans in mind, but these will start in a few weeks.
I'll do a few quick photoshops so you all get an idea....
Bearing in mind i'm going to try and keep it quite subtle.

plans for now
Rocker cover gasket (boring..)
Polish the cam/rocker covers/tidy engine bay
underseal with hammerite
Tidy HID wiring
New powerflex mounts/exhaust rubber
Paint Calipers..(undecided, ideas welcome)
Strut brace
This is all boring stuff, not very interesting but it has to be done.
plans in the near future
Cams: PH3 i think they are
Throttle bodies: Still undecided which ones...
New management...
I'll need to do some saving and research, but this is the route that i am tempted to go down... stay posted for updates.

Looks tidy, what's the mileage? Hard to find a decent one these days - they are dirt cheap tho.

Urm...its just into 6 figures, about 100,000 :( but by the looks of it, it hasn't been a hard life.
All in all its a tidy car, no major dents/rust etc... just needs a tidy up underneath and the engine bay....
Washed and waxed earlier.. will post up pics
And ordered some yellow film for the fogs. I know its been done to death, but i fancied it.

Yeh to be honest it is pretty clean, still haven't really had a chance to give it a good wash/clay/wax etc...

Some plans for today.... going to B&Q to buy an electric sander....I'm going to attempt polishing the cam covers.
I'll also attempt to clean the engine bay a bit, but bearing in mind this is the first time i've actually been bothered to do it, i'm not really sure what i'm doing.
Can't be that hard...

Did you not just fancy sticking a 16v lump into the 106?
New car looks in good nick, what exhaust is on it? Looks to stick out a fair bit...

Yeh tbh this was an idea, but me not being that mechanically minded, let alone not having the resources to go through with changing the engine.
It was cheaper and easier for me to just get a different car. Plus the old quiksilver was gettin' on me tits a bit.
And the exhaust, hmmm no idea. Haven't checked, probably a shitty ebay one, sounds alright though. with the 421 and decat its a nice combo... pops nicely

As you can see there is a lot of surface rust, so i wire brushed the fuck out of it.
I then painted it with "Hammerite Underseal" it was mixed with some anti rust thing you usually get in a can... I did'nt pay much attention tbh. But it worked.
Ta-Da...

Its looking much tidier, even after the first coat
If anyones thinking about doing it i would recommend covering all skin and googles, mask etc...
Oh and wear a hood/hat, it does not come out of your hair haha, grim
Need new exhaust rubber....

Looking good, one thing though is remove the 16v badges. I'm usually for standard looks but Ive always though the 16v badges look like a halfords add on

yeh you know, i am not a fan in the slightest.
Someone who had it before has tried to do it and put a massive gouge in the body underneath. They must have tried using a flathead screwdriver to do it :S
Ill take some pics later

Not much tbh, you can buy the hammerite with waxoyl in a can for pretty cheap. Plus the wire brush was a couple of quid. Worth doing IMO!!
Slight update, all callipers are now yellow :)
2 new wheel bearings have been ordered, pretty boring stuff if you ask me, but necessary..
