I have been bodybuilding for a few years now, and a while ago I started to develop stretchmarks all around my chest, back, and all down my legs and arms. These stretch marks were first red, but after a while they eventually turned purple

I've tried using bio oil and it helped a little, but does anyone know of anything else to help get rid of them, or am I just stuck with them?

Thanks in advance :)

They will never fully disapear, but all they mean it you skin has streched to far to quick. So only thing is to try and prevent more (will sound silly as you are a bodybuilder) is to not put on to much mass to quickly as you will just end up getting more. But the ones you have should fade as i got them when i first started training on my legs and now are pretty much ivisable, and that is without any tratment i.e bio oil but that stuff is good

hope that helps :y:

It helps alot thanks mate, but yeah I realized when I struggled to keep growing that my stretchmarks died down a bit, but there still visible enough for people to ask questions about them. They were splitting at one point though, but not to bad now though it's still a bit annoying having them on show

I've got the most horrific stretch marks you could imagine, like 6" across by my armpits, right across my shoulder, out onto my back, down my legs, backs of legs, all around the groin, hips etc

That was from lifting weights a few years back, did too much and voila. No creams, lotions etc do much on there own

I've had limited success with a 1.5mm derma roller and THEN once my skin is punctured applying cocoa butter first and then bio oil about 10 mins later. They have faded a fair bit tbh It's just the way you're skin is, they pretty much put an end to my bodybuilding, still lift but only occasionally to maintain my strength. Gutted isn't the word, I used to love it and was making fantastic gains.

They won't go, Theyll fade and some will be almost impossible to see eventually. Generally the dark purple deep raise ones will stay, but the smaller silvery ones can fade :)

Bio oil and coco butters done nothing for me. Sun on them is meant to be good though. Tbh the only thing that's helped me is time.
I remember being told the best way to avoid them is to make your skin a moisturised and 'stretchy' as possible to keep up its elasticity, so drinking a lot of water etc

Again cheers for your help and advice guys :)

James, 6" stretchmarks are massive, I bet they sting like an absolute b*tch!! And I would be gutted too if they were to stop me training hard altogether

I'm yet to try coco butter but do regularly try to drink water though, although can be quite hard being stuck in a van all day lol, and will also try the sun if we can actually get any at all this year :)

Again cheers guys

Can never remove them 100% unless you have surgery. I have some reddish ones around my boxer lines from a bulk I did 2 years ago, still pretty red! Tried bio oil it's shit, it just rubs off ! I'm sure there's a cream out there that reduces the rednees to white/silver. Just gotta find it !

Would love to know what the cream is if you can find what it is, the thought of having surgery on my stretch marks scares me....
