well i have seen the cheap mods thread for a mk2 but what about mk1
its already dewipered and i removed badges :wall: gonna try and get some more and tcut em.
alloys and lowering is to come when i can afford em (its 3 stud so alloys are a pain)
but on mk2 spraying front lights black and meshing grill looks good but what about a mk1
ihave seen other threads and i dont want a vt kit so no point saying that lol
here is how she currently sits

R alloys always go cheap-ish on here :y:
Same with already tinted rear side windows
I got mine from eBay 35 posted for the 2 side rear windows tinted
And 1 can will do, just remember primer and laquer and wet dry paper

Looks quite tidy, so I wouldn't go OTT with it. Get some new plates as the old one looks a bit past its best. Try to get some red mirror caps too as they'll go nicely with the car.
As you said, some alloys would suit it - A decent condition set of 'R alloys (although you'll need to do a hub conversion) will look good.
Other than that, I'd say just give it a very good clean and use some decent polish to get the paintwork glowing (red cars can look awesome if the paint is looked after properly). If the black plastic parts on the bumpers and doors are faded, spray those up.

Yeah, whoever decided some models should only get 3 stud hubs was a spesh :homme:
I actually found some Citroen 3 stud alloys... Never even knew they existed. Quite like them too :y:

Can tick that off the list in that case... It's hard to tell from a picture of the car in the wet. Should get some more photos up when it's dry :y:

Don't have any pictures at present, can get you some this weekend though?
Exactly the same as these, in black, Tyres are 194/45/15 budgets and have covered about 1500miles.

Hmm mines a MK1 as well, apart from I'm being plenty more adventurous.
To list a few (not all)
New gti half leather interior
New floor carpet
New led dials
Beesting ariel
Meshed grill
Sprayed engine bay
Sprayed Alloys
New clutch
New cambelt
Sprayed and buffered manifolds
Lowered 50mm
Tints
Fogged headlights
Resprayed gloss black bumpstrips.
Complete new exhaust system
7inch touchscreen in centre console
Flocked interior.
Again, that's not all however I am definitely going OTT. Small mods can make a world of difference.
