Some of you may have seen the previous thread on a mini project, but due to finding a better shell for a very good price locally I couldn't resist and also decided on a change of plans whilst I was at it so here goes.
Working with mark1311 who will ensure this is awesome! Car is already down at MA Motorsport
Original vehicle
1978 1275 GT
Engine: 1275cc
Bhp: 57bhp
0-60: 13.9
1/4 mile:
Top speed: 87mph
Project!
Engine: Early 1.4 k series with turbo
BHP: initially around 200bhp capable of 400bhp mark
0-60: sub 6 seconds
1/4 mile: aiming for sub 11.5 secs
Top speed: ???
So here goes!!!
Picked up the shell on 25/4/12
Had over £500 of panels fitted so a very good base. Just needs tidying up.

Anyway, this weekend was spent mostly working out what needs what on the shell. Some panels need the welds tidying up and the floorpans need properley fitting.
Just other bits and bobs really but spent an hour finishing off the rear quarters welding
Was also planning on lengths of CDS needed to build a cage , oh and spent a good hour bolting the pipe bender to the unit floor haha

Had a fair crack at it today, decided to strip the subframe down bare so I can shotblast a few bits and fit some new bushes etc.
We made a couple of side mount plates up for the fitting of the frame seems to be sat nicely. Just need to finish the welding now before it gets permanantly fitted.
So whipped the plates back off so they can get cleaned up.
Lovely template ;)

Not much progress at the moment :(
Trying to source an engine and placed an order for £200 of CDS for the rollcage.
Also been helping prep the turbo saxo for French car show all added together with a trip to wembley next weekend and a holiday in 3 weeks.
