After you've all finished with your hairdresser/gay jokes ( ) i've sold the 172 and bought this little beauty :D
It's slower than the Clio and in comparison the brakes are shocking but i literally don't care. I had more of a smile on my face driving home in this than i have in 18 month's of owning the Clio!! It's awesome :)
Anyway, i hadn't owned it an hour and i'd started the modding. New steering wheel already fitted haha. Monday i'm ordering coilovers and wheels too so she'll soon be on the floor!

Haha, undecided on the exhaust yet. The important bit atm is get it low lol. That and give it a service.
It is tidy though, it's had a full respray. All the wings have been done and new sills etc. No pudding either, all metal :)

Nope. I bought it purely because i've wanted one for ages. I kept saying no because they're old etc. Then thought "fuck it, i want one, i'm having one".
It isn't a patch on the Clio regards speed, comfort, luxuries etc. But that really doesn't matter to me. And if i want speed i've got the bike. Not many car's will come anywhere near that.

Actually, tbf when the Saxo was driven away from me i felt like i needed to throw up. The Clio wasn't anywhere near like that. I'll miss it, not like the Saxo though. Saxo had a lot more character. The Mazda seems to have plenty also :A:

Yup 15x8 et0. Roll the arches and they wont rub at all. Mine don't scrub on potholes or anything. Just speedbumps that cause the diff to bottom out.

Yup, or they were when I sold mine, they're only on imports apparently, and all the old guys want them. I think the bullet type ones work on the right car, but they gotta flow with the rest of it IMO.
As for the brakes, I dunno. Apparently, all you need is the calipers, because the carriers are the same, but don't hold me to that, other than that, it's just swap the lines, and bleed em up. And the nipples, unlike Saxos don't tend to seize, which is lucky, considering the calipers often tend to. (i'm on my second caliper on both sides).

First up, last week the gear knob came off in my hand lol. It looked like someone had the same thing happen to them so they'd bodged it back on. Instead of doing the same again i bought a Tegiwa one, proper Mazda fitment so it screws on rather than some crap grub screw or whatever:

And finally a quick pic of it with my mate's RS as i loved how tiny it looked next to it :P

Haha, i thought the same when i took them out the box. Inside they looked exactly as you described but once i got them outside looked bronze ha.
Sealed them up using Finish Kare 1000P too so might bring it out a bit more.

The guy is full of shit. I've had a read of his advert, lots of false info and all MY pictures so they're at least 19month old.
Thanks for the tip though :)
And thanks again people. Off work tomorrow so i'm going to try and get her detailed, perhaps a little lower if i can without rolling the arches too.
Also ordered some black locking wheel nuts, for all of the nuts as well. Don't want anybody nicking them haha.
Bit more then... Calipers painted red and black wheel nuts fitted. Normally i'm against red standard calipers - but i think the little Mazda pulls it off tbh being the colour it is :)
http://i287.photobucket.com/albums/ll155/chipvtr/e85a5cd4.jpg
Not bothered painting the discs as i'll be putting new discs and pads on soon!
Also a little lower, not much - but a bit. Can't really lower it any more until the arches are rolled...

Cheers dude :) Makes me laugh how the bronze-ness is less noticeable today now the sun's gone!
Just thought i'd whack these in being as one shows it better with the painted calipers and the wheel nuts...

Small update, first up i recently found myself a hardtop. Makes the car a lot quieter and stiffer but i won't be running it much through summer, i'd rather be able to get the roof down.
However i did put it on for a show today. Took these pic's after cleaning it ready for the show yesterday:

Need to decide though as the next plan is a duck tail spoiler but no point bonding it to this boot if i'm not keeping this car!

Luks really good mate, im looking for a mx5 as we speak, in the process of selling the saxo and then getting one hopefully around late november/december time. Wanting the grid-v's but in 8j. Cant wait to get my hands on one
CHIP
1st October 2012, 07:56
I'd have gone for 8s but they just make the car a bit useless to drive. If i'm pushing through bends it does scrub - and down country lanes the mud flaps hit the floor. Speed humps are also bit of a nightmare.
The front mud flaps will come off when i get the wings painted anyway, mind.
But if it's like that with 7s, 8s would be a 'mare! Plus you'll have no option but to roll your arches. I like the look but i'd rather be able to drive the car hard when i want to :) Thanks though!

Yea getting the arches rolled for free off a mate, and drove my mates mx5 with the 8's on and he drifts that no problem without rubbing after the arches were rolled. So happy days
