My VTS is dead and fed up not having a car/enough money so bought this as a run around. Cost a massive amount of £345 :)

I love it, but fucking hate it at the same time. £25 just under 1/4 tank and body rolls like a cunt. Felt so twitchy last night but then again the roads were very wet! Needs lowering I know, front is 70 and rear is 90. Speedo is fucked below 40mph but Ive been launching it everywhere :p

On our local runway, the VTS did 110 and then 118 on the return, this does 83 and 91. 8v FTL.

put it on its arse if i can find some springs that will do the job. can only seem to find 35/40, i need double that! coilovers will be a waste of money

Have a look at krisb's, he's done something cool with the suspension but cant remember what, but its dropped around 80mm i think. He made a progress thread on it

Golf or a 405? lol. Thats a personal preference thing anyway. All i meant was you couldve got something better than that for the money, plenty of bargains around - I bought an x-reg 1.6 clio for £400.

I know what you mean but anything under £500 was gonna be shit. Just went on ebay, sorted everything by petrol/diesel/manual and max £500 within a set distance. Pretty much everything else was fucked, needed work etc but at least this runs fine(ish :p) and can do cheeky taxi runs while I look for something better.

he fitted Xsara VTS front shocks (inch shorter than 405) and some -35mm 306 springs gave it a 70mm drop
