ive got a renegade REN720 amp and a 1000w jbl sub and whilst drivin the other day the sub just cut out. the other speakers being run off the amp are working (6x9s). ive checked the fuses on the amp and power lead to the amp and theyre both fine, does any1 have any idea what the prob could be? thanks

shouldnt you use the amp to power the subs then the 6x9s wired up to your head unit

think you may be over powering the amp if your running a 1000w sub off an amp that will give 1 channel 250w then it cant do it just wire the 6x9s to a different amp but just up to the head unit wont sound very good

thanks for the help, the 6x9s sound better when run throught the amp but they were origionally piggybacked from the back door speakers. the sub is actually 1000w peak power so it should be ok. On the amp the is a green power light and a red protect light and the red one is on so i dont know why the 6x9 work and the sub doesnt. sorry if i sound a bit stupid lol i am blond!!

are the 6x9's in parcel shelf, best bet is bin them, have you checked the sub wires havn't touched on amp, red light on means amp has went into protection mode iether getting to hot, have the gain to high, and sounds like your over working the amp

possible that the connections inside the sub box have fallen off.
6x9s just say no.

check the earth on the amp, my sub had probs last time cus it wasnt earthed gud enuf. i know that the 6x9's would not work if amp had probs but its worth a shot
