Good call! Could just get some plain black desire door cards for a cheaper option though. Will still all blend in nicely that way

Really tempted to get mine done now ive seen this again!
I also recommend getting the black A, B and C pillar covers out of a 106 and spraying the headliner black :-)

Take good care oh her pal, I'll be watching this.
As people have already said the photoshop looks brilliant. I always wanted to change door cards, roof wrapped, gloss black bumps and tinted rear windows just never had the time recently!
Also, I did have black sestbelts and interior plastics ready to go in business. When I thought the car was being broken I chucked them in the shed somewhere :wall:

Also as supected when i bought the car, the rear beam had seen better days confirmed last night when i jacked it up with hand brake off and gave it a wiggle
Camber yoo:n:

Find it a bit weird how the cars shagged two beams in the last year, on the same side this ones only been fitted 2 months..
Sighhh :(

Hmm, the old one's still in the garden and that ones completely fucked, find it strange that one's gone too. If you do change it, keep the arb, its the 24mm gti one

Like this a lot I think widemouthing the bumper grill(IE spraying it black)would finish it off ,with maybe some 106 mirrors sprayed black.

you should spray the inside of the fog lights black so it matches the rest of the car

least of my worries now, i need a new beam, dont expect to pay top money for a new car to descover that who ever put the 25mm arb in, didnt use locktight or didnt bother tightening up the arb plate resulting in tonights find after having some seriouse noises coming form the back end
Took the back wheel off, Noticed the bolt on the arb hanging out at a angle, pulled lightly on the arb and it came sliding out..
http://i1066.photobucket.com/albums/u416/W343NNA/fun.jpg
Im asuming this has resulted in the rear beam failing ? dont exacly know how the beam works but i no it shouldnt wobble around with this bolted back in :/

If the arb hasn't been done up correctly it will have let water in, which washes the grease out and the bearings wear directly against the stub pins. Stupidly citroen / pug made the bearing harder than the pin so it wears away the pin which causes the play.
Chances are the old owner put a second hand beam on which was nackard anyway, or whoever lowered it didn't put the arb back on.

Not really, but it's up to you. We refurb the rear beams, cheaper & better quality than IMaxels but currently waiting on pins so we can start refurbing them again :)

Bad news about the rear beam mate :n:
I never expect to buy an oldish car without any problems though, especially a saxo.
Mine was described as mint.. discovered it needed 2 new tyres, driveshaft, droplinks straight away lol.
Also i think an engine mount is on the way out ha..

Id expect drop links and tyres to be worn but when its had a replacment beam you do.t expect thay to be shagged

I drove about with a shagged rear beam for a few months, only because it took me that long to realise it was knackered though as mine passed an mot like that?!!!
It was so bad you could kick the wheel and it wobbled. I couldn't run spacers as it shook the bolts loose...

my beam was like that! i had a squeeking for abourt a year i cba to find out what it was when i actually looked the arb was hanging out from when it was lowered! so thats me needing a new beam as well

Going to have to call this lot bullshit.
Top money? Dude, do you realise how cheap you got that car? Obviously not, If that was my car, I'd have wanted at least £1.6k, the seats are worth £450, the 16v conversion a few months before cost £800. A lot more of my car parts from my Yellow GTi went on this car for free.
Whoever put that 25mm ARB in? Proves you know fuck all about cars and you're touching it yourself, its 24mm. Didn't tighten up the ARB end plate? More bullshit, I done that fucker. See my Rallye thread which you spouting your mouth on to see the story behind that ARB, it was fucked before Karl bought it, proper fucked, The Whole ARB Set up was fucked. Me and Adam stopped that Beam knocking like fuck. Locktite was used. The Bolt was not hanging out either.
No, my work didn't result in the beam failing, it had that much Camber when it was fitted.
I've never seen so much shite on Saxp. Pipe down you attention seeking whore.

Correct JP, it was fubar from the previous owners lowering, when we put it on, it was still fubar. We repaired it to stop the major knocking that was going on.
Tbh, drive a car like a cunt, it will fuck up.

As Dom said, the beam was making no noise after the beam was fitted properly, whatever noise you heard Sam was not created in my ownership. You drove the car before you bought it and said fuckall, I was completely honest with you with anything you asked and even pointed out things before you'd even seen them. The beam had been lowered by some cunt on 106owners that obviously didn't know what he was doing as the end plates were smashed on. This was sorted and the noise that it had been making stopped.
Dom knows exactly what he's doing with these cars and I can trust him and his knowledge. Ontop of that we had Adam, who does mechanics for a living and was letting us use the pit in the workshop to work on the car
A lot of time, money and effort went into this car during my ownership and tbh its fucked me off that you're starting to say you're annoyed with it. You checked the car thoroughly and drove it and said you were happy with it, it actually makes me feel sick thinking about how much money I'm losing on it, I could have broken it for parts and made more, you got a fucking bargain. I even held onto the car for a month, turning down people that made me offers before you collected it because I said that I'd hold it for you, even though I was waiting for it to go so I could pay for my new car.
Still not taking sides but his just pissed off like you was after a week of owning your MR2, but on the other hand if he test drive it etc then yer.. Should have jacked it up and felt for play i did when my mate was looking for a Saxo. People got annoyed but who cares being a member of sax-p you should have known better, but Kyle most prob knew when he sold it anyway.
Cars are for sale for a reason 90% of the time.
Karlb1
16th May 2012, 17:43
Yeah I was pissed with the mr2, but I never got the chance to test that as it had no tax, obviously for a reason now. But sam drove the car and checked over a few things, he checked for play in the beam, noticed there was slight play (minor) and said 'well you can never find a perfect one'. Went for a test drive and he didn't say anything.
The car was for sale because I was sick of pumping money into modifications, so plan was to buy a decent car with a little bit of work needing doing, sort it and keep it standard, which is what's happening. I made sure everything on the saxo was sorted in my eyes before I even decided to sell it, as you know cam I was considering breaking it but Dom and Adam helped me with the rear beam (which was the major issue at the time.
he checked for play in the beam, noticed there was slight play (minor) and said 'well you can never find a perfect one'.
When that car left from Adam's, it was perfectly fine. The play was in the Damper and not in the bearing. Which Adam found strange iirc.
Ps. Please don't say shit about Adam's mechanical skills, the guy's got more years experience in it than you've probably been alive.

I remember him saying something about the damper being quite soft or something.
I didn't say anything bad about adam? The guys shit hot at mechanics, I can't thanks him enough for what he's done.

No, not you. That was meant for Sam, just incase he tried criticising Adam as well seeing as he was quick to jump on my case.

Whatever problems their are with the beam, still doesnt take away from all the items included with the car, none of which are cheap, such as seats, 16v conversion, morrets etc
and from what i have read you dont seem to have paid top dollar for it.
Cars are sold as seen what you buy is what you get so dont complain to the previous owner.

Thank fuck someone sees a bit of sense. Sam paid £1200 for the car, which means I'm losing a shit load of money and decent car that had a lot of time, money and effort put into it.
As I've said, the car was looked over, tested and driven, nothing negative was said. I think he got a bargain considering the parts on the car and the work that's been done to it. Everything on the interior of the car adds up to around £700-800, the engine, the exhaust, morettes, rear beam (which I didn't have any problems with after the repair) decent brakes etc. Its always been looked after, cleaned regularly and properly, not ragged around.

I totally understand why he is annoyed I would be, but at the car not the seller. When I bought my car the seller said nothing and turned out there was a couple of little problems.
Cars are sold as seen and if the buyer misses something it is their fault not the sellers, you have been kind enough to show him the faults with the car and let him test drive it.
For £1200 it is a bargain with all the stuff included, and from your progress thread it can be seen that it has been taken care of.
Heart goes out to the lad though as last thing you want when buying a car is finding out you missed something that needs money spending on it. However when buying a saxo whatever the condition you should always be expecting to spend money on it

well sam, whilst i feel for you, you've owned 14 saxos, if you don't know what you're looking at yet or what cars are worth, is it not time to call it a day. Oh and if you break it,can i buy the engine back?

God its just a rear beam! :homme:
Well basicly it drives like a dog with three legs.. all engine mounts are shagged, rear beams absolutly fucked gearbox is making dodgy noises play in front ball joints on wishbones suspect shocks to be fucked as every bump feels like its on coilovers so at the min its looking like.. new drop links new wishbones new track rod ends new shocks new rear beam engine mounts nee bottom altinator pully as its squeeks a little ( gash rubber pully setup )
And what ever els i find.. ohnestly reaaly do regret buying it if id never owned a saxo before id probs not notice but this is my 14th and i can now tell after doing around 300 miles since iv had it that its so so gone.. good job its got decent parts that sort of cover what i payed for it.. rahh stressing tonight as im currently delivering as my job so need my car and you can really tell the differnce theres me thinking asking 1600 for my blue furio is to much is it fuck it drives like new!
said loads about regretting selling hes only ever had two saxoa so wouldnt have the knolegde i have after driving.it of whats gone wrong or what it should feel like and obvs i didnt on rhe test drive been holdong it in but its mounting up now
Was pointed in the direction of this, I am pretty disgusted with the childish behaviour and bitching that you are doing. Engine Mounts aren't shagged, the coolant temp sensor is your problem. I saw that engine go in, they're fine.
The rear beam is not 'Absolutely fucked', it was fine when it left me, with a tad bit of camber as we all know, and you knew when buying it. Amazing as that Gearbox was also more than fine and was 'as good as you can get'. I didn't like it due to it being a VTR box, meaning the car has a lot of power missing.
Hahahaha the Alternator set up is brand new, how the fuck you can say that is beyond me. Remember its all my old parts off my Yellow GTi that went onto this car. The car is far from gone.
I'm surprised the childish antics coming from your general direction slating parts that I know about, I fitted, I tested. Please remember I have built these cars from top to bottom, my friends cars as well. Spent endless days/nights on Mikol's full rebuild project, My Yellow GTi, White GTi and Rallye, Logic Guys VTR with Gearbox and Clutch, Karls car as you know and many other friends on Saxp and off, so for you to firstly slate me saying I don't know what I'm doing is way out of order.
If you regret buying it, sell it, I'd personally buy it, its worth more in parts.
If its your 14th Saxo, you are quite clearly doing something majorly wrong, especially being 19 years old. To say Karl don't know, then that's a bit harsh, but to say you know what you're doing when you've slated me? Christ. You remind me of most other dreamers on this site, and ASW who live for getting attention from it. Get out of the car scene if its so shit.
