I don't think it's that bad tbh, apart from the obvious ferdinand missing

richards missing... wellbeck, downing, stevie G, and carrol all making the squad...

Rule numero uno of international football - never expect anything from England.
no dissapointment to be had :D
Although, reminds me of going out in leicester the night before FCS 2010, that day England drew to USA, the amount of angry upset england fans was pretty funny, proper kicking off in one club haha.

should have adam johnson instead of downing, and sturridge instead of carroll
Might aswel get in early. Taxi for Roy.
Why he's picked half of klanfields shite is beyond me.

Hahaha, yep that sounds like pretty good advice!

I remember watching that in town at some packed pub, everyone was just drowning their sorrows whilst angrily ranting about how terrible England are!
Carrol is shit! Worst selection by far!

Wow thats a let down for you guys.
Ireland may go further at this stage.

So you rate downing then?
So you rate downing then?
Not really aha, it also disappoints me that I have a macbook from pcworld with the cash for goals promo, may as well say goodbye to that money.

Thing is, when in the past have Englands "strongest" squad done anything of note? Might actually be a surprise package that just clicks together and you end up winning a few.
But I hope not :)

I think the squads pretty decent, carroll deserves to be playing he's been decent towards the end of the season.
micah richards should be there though and why is downing included!
I'd rather take carroll over crouch at least he works hard
should have adam johnson instead of downing, and sturridge instead of carroll
I'd like to have seen Johnson but he's not played enough.
Carroll is in for his presence.
I think whatever squad Roy went with people wouldn't be happy. They'll always be a player or two that we'd put in instead of others.
We've just to get behind the team and not have high expectations. It will be a tough tournament and we'll do well to get out of the group. Bar Rooney maybe, we don't have world class players in form atm. Maybe Chamberlain could be the Owen of '98 World Cup or the Rooney of the '04 Euros?
More chance of oxley chamberlain being the Walcott of 2012 sadly, espec with stevie me me me as captain.

for me
richards needed to be in there
sturridge ahead of wellbeck (perhaps the thinking is that wellbeck and rooney play together already so should be good)
Johnson instead of downing
probs should sack off milner and stevie G too, but not sure who i'd stick in their place.
oh and i know scholes is old, but nobody can say he's not performed well this season, better than most central mids all year in the prem at least.
Ryan - Lol. Hopefully not, as hopefully he'll actually get a game!
Ashley - Sturridge and Johnson are on the back up list. You can always injure Downing lol.
Even as a Spurs fan, I don't think Defoe contributes much. He's a good goal scorer but I can't see him working with Rooney. Not that - that may matter as he misses the first two games.

England are gonna win it if they score more than the opposition!

I'll call Roy and let him know this tactic lol.

Ashley Scholes wont play for England. He retired ages ago to concentrate on club football.

Which he also retired from and is now back playing.

Bit different though tbh Ryan. He retired from international years ago. Way before he retired fully.

Its not a bit different though. He retired and missed the game, many reports around are that he would welcome a call up to the national side again.
He seems to be genuinely enjoying playing the game again.
As much as Scholes could still offer something I don't see this happening.

What the actual fuck. No Emile Heskey. I'm proper disappointed at that

What has stevie me me me actually done for a number of seasons?
His dismal link up play to the front men in the world cup screwed us.
Looking at the list really makes you realise how bad the choice of players is for England, at least before it was big names under performing lol.
I would never pick Downing or Milner in any England squad if I was manager.

Personally i'd switch downing for Lennon & Carroll for Sturridge, although if Carroll keeps playing like he has been doing for The Mighty Red (Yes i'm a liverpool fan) then i don't see why he shouldn't be on the team :)

I'm shocked Richards isn't there, best English right back there is in my opinion
I was impressed with Carroll in the FA Cup Final when he came on, not a bad choice I don't think, especially as there is no Rooney first 2 games
Still, England will do shit

He was played out of position on the left for nearly the whole tournament. How can you blame that for our shocking effort. It was the whole team that played utter shit.
Don't know if the Heskey comment is a joke. Wellbeck is shit, I would of picked Defoe over him. Carroll has had a shit season but the past 5 or 6 games he's shown pretty good form which is more than most of the English strikers.
Don't know what the fuss is anyway, we're never going to get very far with the current players compared to the Germans, Spanish, Dutch etc.
Was abit surprised over Richards not getting in, and how the fuck can they justify that thug Terry being in I do not know, thought Woy had more sense and better morals.

i think the reason Richards isn't in is because Jones can cover the same as him and although richards is a very good player, Jones is performing brilliantly and i've seen him in midfield once or twice so he's got that little bit extra!

Would also like to have seen Richards in, Adam Johnson instead of downing. Even if he hasn't played loads of games he has the ability to make things happen, which downing doesn't.
I'm a spurs fan and was shocked to see Defoe get in, but maybe he will link up well with Carroll in the first couple of games before Rooney becomes available. No doubt Defoe can finish if he gets the opportunity.

You're on crack if you think jones is any where near as good as richards lol.

Hmm, then I may need to get the pipe out along with Roy.
As an athlete I think he's hard to beat, he's also good at going forward. However, I don't know how good he is defensively and wouldn't want him as centre back (Jones is in for centre and right back). Zabaleta has kept him out of the City team for most of the season.

Id pick milner all day long, awesome player, chases the ball, and fights for it, good strong, solid player!

Have you seen him playing for England? Dire.

I think that's a bit harsh. He's solid and works hard. Just doesn't create much.
