received this the other day from a customer to flock

i opened it earlier to get cracking and found it to be a total mess... the customer said they inspected it prior to forwarding to me and it wasnt fucked

but then re packaged it (wrapped in bubble wrap and tightly fitted into a box jammed with polystyrene packing pellets)

now..looking at it..it would appear to me that far more filler has been used then should have

its a smoothed lower console which has had an "ipod dock" fitted..from what i can tell no fibreglass has been used at all

it looks like the "dock" is a piece of wood that has been fixed in position with filler..then the whole thing has been skimmed quite thickly with filler..which has cracked in several places and is flaking in a few

NOW.......would you believe this is down to how its been packaged or the fact its mostly filler? i think its the filler...as it does look like its "shrank" in places (which is common)

(if your wondering my comma key isnt working again)

videos are shite quality so i do apologise..

theres another one uploading..its worse then it looks in the vid lol

It was well packed and couldn't move, but the last one i got with the other style of 'iphone holder' had marks in the filler so i've emailed the person who did it.

lol gibbo

imo its had alot more filler then it should have...when smoothing you only need a small skim..id say the filler is between 1-2mm thick on this

on something so flexible thats a recipe for disaster :n:

flock it as is!

it would show through..and i can imagine its going to get worse lol..it still feels abit "damp" which means if its still not fully cured its going to shrink more..

ask the dude he has some choices..
you flock it as it is even though itll look crap
you send it back to him and he covers postage

He's getting in touch with the seller, I'm just after some opinions

It could have been squashed by courier, as it was pretty tightly packed.. But there is no apparent damage to the box.. Not that this matters if it was squashed

it probably only took a bit of flexing to crack it
