Why do you need to tax it to sell it? Just give them the money to tax it with whatever you was gonna tax it with. Maybe see if you can find someone who will insure it for a few days or something

To tax the car you need a full policy.

Take out a cheap policy, 3rd party only or something, explain that you need to tax the car so could do with getting the certificate emailed over (check with company before hand as some won't email them over for security reasons).

Print it off, go get tax, then phone them up and cancel the policy. You get a 14 day cooling off period and you will get your deposit money back. They may charge you for the cover you have had, but if you cancel same day you should be ok and not have to pay lots. Might charge you a small admin fee.

Depends on the company. It isn't a set price of £50.
