Mayswell put up a thread for this if anyone is interested in old Hondas
Bought it cheap with some gash mirrors, AEM intake, catback exhaust, Calibre wheels, Impreza seats, MOMO gear knob, tinted rear lights, mugen rep splitter, alloy radiator
Since buying it a week ago I have done some work: Sony head unit, LED bulbs, Mutant sub and amp, Decat, Toyosport 4 branch manifold, full service, tempory indicators, dished steering wheels and boss, aero wipers, red silicone vacuum hoses, red loom covers, also needed a new thermostat.
Still to do/plans: Strip it out, Cobra bucket seat, temp coil sleeves, Xenon bulbs, paint callipers silver, respray satin turquoise/white, 6" pink dildo knob, square plates on
First bought:

Depends on what engine to what the insurance is you can get insurance really cheap on a 1.3 marlin eg if you just want the looks still 75bhp though.
Back to the op's thread the amber indicators look better than the clears. I use to have one of these when I was still at school as my first car when the "Fast and Furious days" were cool I did the b16 conversion though.

23rd May 2012, 18:43
Depends what tyres you've got. With decent tyres, white writing can look awesome, if they're budget, it doesn't exactly work. Hence why i've not done it to my Mazda yet, lol.
But then, if you've got something else to write, do that instead. For example, 'Idlers' like RWB cars usually have.

Unfortunately I'm running ditch finders, in all fairness they are pretty good! Like you say I was thinking of coming up with my own made up name similar to Idlers and having a go. Might look ok not really sure. Is the car hardcore enough? lol

Yea exactly, the suspension is weird to say the least, at the moment the chopped bump stops are still in and I think Ill just remain at this height for the moment.

Cheers Gibbo  Yea going for a 'quick' philosophy but with a stylised exterior. I'm planning on body-shopping the outside and hitting it with some satin paint with my compressor and gun, then getting some jap wheels. Not really sure if it falls within a category but somewhere near JDM

IIRC they are all 4x100, when I say JDM I just mean that style like Rota Zero plus for example. What is your opinion on colour then? Attempt a gloss Milano respray or leave it as it is?
Actual satin ftw, as long as it doesn't go matt. :)
LOl yea that's what I had in mind, turquoise paint for example with a satin lacquer

Rays would be epic but as I say I'm trying to keep it cheap and fun, the calibre pro 7's on it are awesome wheels but I fancied something JDM

The only difference suspension wise AFAIK, is that the JDM models have ITR style rear suspension - fork rather than ball - whereas the UKDM models have ball type, rather than fork.
Yea many ITR parts fit eg's, I was considering a ITR front strutbrace just because :]
MiniGibbo
8th June 2012, 20:53
I'm 99% sure jdm models are 114.3x4 ask on civiclife for a defiance answer
Rear suspension differs like ticthster says.

8th June 2012, 21:29
I'm 99% sure you're wrong. ;) Not like I did a load of research into them when I was looking at getting an SiR, or owt....
Hell, do Honda use 4x114 on anything? I think you're getting confused with the 5 stud conversion that's common from MBs etc.
Bedford126
8th June 2012, 21:45
Gibbo is correct with what he is saying. Import eg's dc's and the occational ek have the 4x114 fitment. If we are getting technical its 4 x 114.3 but we wont argue over 3mm
It comes from the jap's using inches witch is 4x4.5 inch.
Also made it a bastard to get wheels to fit mine.

8th June 2012, 21:58
First i've ever heard of it. Any info on it? Everywhere I looked said for JDM EG6s (SiR/SiR2) that it was still 4x100.
After a bit of Googling, Honda did use 4x114.3 on 96 spec DC2s, but I can't even find anything on Google of it being standard on EGs/EKs.
Bedford126
8th June 2012, 22:02
Its not fully standard for all imports.
Depends on what hubs they used in the factory at the time and where the parts were made.
There is a big article on it on honda-tech with all the info on what disks to buy ect as there pretty oddball and hard to find.
