have had my saxo about 6 weeks with no problems, but suddenly last week my driver door stopped locking off the fob.. all the other doors are ok.

last night my alarm started goin off, so i disarmed it, then armed it again.. 15 mins later, going off again.. it got to the point where i had to dearm it and just use the central locking with the key...

no change today, about 5 mins after i arm the alarm it goes off...

its a standard citroen VTS mk1 alarm .. help !!

bound to be the ultra sonic sensors they are truly shite. Hold down the button on the dash til the light goes red then lock the car. This disarms the sensors but still arms the car so that should stop it going off in the mean time

make sure you lose windows and stuff and you should be ok, if you leave sunroof or windows open (even slightly then it will go off!)

Having the same problem and am looking for advise:
i hold the sensor button down and the red light comes on, but then how do i lock the doors while keeping the sensors (which are now turned off)

When i use the key fob to lock the doors, it overrides the sensors being off and guess what, my alarms go off!!

Think i may have sussed it, held the button down and locked the car via the fob, now not making any noise at all. Just hope its not fluke or something!

saxo alarm ultrasound sensor removal

http://i19.photobucket.com/albums/b157/stevecnet/ultrasoundsensor.jpg

As most of you saxo owners know a common problem with the standard citreon alarm is the ultra sonic sensors on the inside of the car which are too
sensitive and cause the alarm to trigger. some of you replace them (£60 in parts) but the fault often still comes back. Others cover the end or the ultra
sound sensors with tape but this looks tacky or just look the car with the key but this does not enable the alarm. anther way to stop it is to press and hold the ultrasonics button on the dash until the light stays on red disarming them and stop it going off but this must be done everythime you wish to arm the alarm which gets anoying after a couple of weeks so i decided to make a guide on how to disconnect the ultrasound sensors from the alarm control unit. before you start disconnect the negative terminal from the battery of the vehicle.

first of all you need to locate the alarm control unit, it is located under
the dash by the heater box.

once found detach the rubber band going over the control box which will allow it to hang down allowing access to the plug connections to the rear. once down disconnect the brown plug and locate two thick black wires, these wire are the ultrasound wires and need to be disconnected, once disconnected tape the ends up to stop any short circuiting and then reconnect the brown control plug back to the alarm control unit, the battery can now be re-connected and the alarm will now work without ultrasound.
