I am thinking of getting one, what sort of things are common problems that they have?

Other than general wear and tear, Is there anything i should look out for ?

My mum had one a few years back, wasn't too bad but fuck did I hate those seats.

Got back ache every time we went somewhere far, then the key broke off in the lock and the dumb bitch didn't realise. It got robbed and rolled.

Come to think of it, was it down by bournville?

Not too sure, got robbed from Quinton think it ended up hitting a lamppost and ending up on it's roof in Harbourne.

You robbed it didn't you?

Get the 16v 1.6 rather than the snail pace 1.6 8 valve.

http://www.astraownersclub.com/vb/ would make more sense than saxo one.

Bit like being on a Ferrari forum and asking about Lotusesssssssssssss

All the others are what your parents or grand parents would take you out to the seaside or asda. imo..

Ah fair enough, I just remember seeing one in bournville on its roof, in a pond a couple of years back lol.

Ah nah not ours.

Tbh I was glad the thing was gone, wasn't so happy when the police decided because I was 16 it must of been me that robbed it.

The only good thing to ever come out of a mk4 was the astravan

Even they look dated now

Must be a brummie thing, when my dads car got stolen a few years back the police thought it was me. Wouldnt be so bad if the police werent brummies aswell, stereotypical bastards lol.

LOL annoying as fuck ent it, there was blood all inside the car and they still didn't find who robbed it.

Just decided to arrest me instead the day I got back from Malia.

On my 3rd Mk4 just now. Previous was a lowly 1.4 16v LS, then a 2.2 16v SRi, and now have a 1.8 16v SRi. Not bad cars by any stretch of the imagination.

Well built, can look nice with a few subtle mods, very good all round cars tbh and for the price you can pick them up for nowadays, you can get a decent car that will be reliable. As standard they are a bit watery, but a suspension upgrade makes a world of difference.

No major common faults throughout the Mk4 range either. If its what you want, then don't be put off by people who know jack shit about them.

They never thought to run tests on the blood?
I suppose the police dont really care about car theft though, they find them and thats the end of the case normally. Its stupid, they never arrested me, but arresting you for stealing what is essentially your own car?! Why would it have even crossed their minds it was you? lmao

They said they were going to but then arrested me two weeks later

What you've just said is pretty much what I said to them, they thought I'd been out joy riding at 3 in the morning, rolled it and ran home, got in without waking my mum and fell asleep before they got there LOL

Had one after my 1.1 EastCoast.

Upsides; (SXi) comfy, smooth, safe, low insurance nice to drive and good on fuel.

Downsides; SLOW. SLOW. SLOW. Very boring to drive day to day and makes you want another saxo.

That. is. All.
