My saxo's head gasket went while in the middle of moving house lol, car full of furniture complete nightmare.

Anyway I'm going to fix it in due course but have found a cheap local 306, it's the 1.9 non turbo model it was up for £700 I initially offered him £500 but we've agreed on £550 if it's as advertised it comes with like 10m mot and a few months tax so perfect for me it's got 144k on it which as I've read is not that much of a big deal on these but is there anything in particular I should look at?

Xud engine, not really much tbf the clutch cable will give problems but a new one will cure for ages, regular oil changes they dont like oil being left in them, then just usual stuff water pumps, diesel pump should be more than ok at that mileage... Very sound engine my mum had a 405 with that engine and it had done over 500,000... Monster mileage
