Okay was setting out on a road trip with the other half al was well untill a other road user made a last second turn off a straight bit of road, forcing the car in front to slam on and me also untill I hit her. Her boot has a tiny dent in whilst my bonnet bumper headlights slam pannel and foglight are fxcked. She said she wanted my details and would be in touch. I wasnt driving like a idiot as I value my car too much and have only had it on the road a week I have no convictions at all and have nearly 2 years ncb. What do you think will happen ?

We can't tell the future, you'll just have to wait and see and hope she doesn't claim.

They will come round and fuck you with an iron bar.

Then empty your wallet for 6 years.

Here is a little bit of advice.

Keep a safe distance from the car in front.

Imagine if someone was to jump in front of the car in front, or their gearbox locks up, they stop extremely quickly. So you should keep a distance that means you can guarantee to stop without hitting them, as unfortunately, no matter what the car does in front, if you rear-end them, you will always be in the wrong.

Get a quote with 0 ncb and a claim give you some idea what to expect On confused etc

Mine was actually cheaper than the quotes I got when it came to crunch time but went up about 250 in total

If you rear ended her, regardless of whether she brakes sharply etc I would guess the insurance company are going to side with her.

This could mean lost NCB and having to declare an accident for the next 5 years to your insurance company.

Impossible to tell how much.

This happens to me, apart from I was the like being hit. You're going to lose your no claims, and have a declared crash. Hopefully it's not bad for you, but you rewllym should, have kept a safe distance.

you could just pay for the damage and avoid insurance

I did the same and it generally costs £50-£100 more with a year less no claims and a claim on my record. Not too much really.

the only way you have any hope is if she had a brake light out or two out if she has a window one.

Won't just effect you for one year either.

There is minimum damage to hers (2 dents) which you can barly feel and no damage to the boot floor etc I rekon the dents would pop out but couldnt as there was a trim there and had no torx bits :-(

My ex gf's uncle had a fit at the wheel whilst reversing out the driveway, he bunny hopped the car across the road and bumped in to another car on a driveway.

The other cars bumper had a small chip in it, further inspection revealed the boot lining had a crease in it, which is a write off as that is part of the chassis.

I would go to the library and rent a Bible, you'll need it when you start to pray.

My insurance went from 1600 with 2ncb to 3800 and that was third parties fault
No matter what a claim on your insurance and under 25 -30 your gonna have a lot extra to pay
