I was thinking about getting some smoked rear lights, I've heard alot of people run into problems with regulations and stuff, like there has to be a reflector showing or something. Does anyone know the regulations for these lights? Would be appreciated. :y:

I've never got into trouble with mine, I used tint spray and tinted the bottom section of the lights and there all okay, never had any problems :y:

Lighting regulations are quite complicated and most people talk utter rubbish about it. Though on a car the age of the Saxo it boils down to all required lights must be approved and fitted as per regulations. This includes reflectors. You can fit any lighting system as long as it fits within these regulations. So to the letter of the law and sort of tint or other such modification is not permitted. There are all sorts of things the police could do you for if you did not comply with these regulation. Many people get away with braking these regulations but this does not make it legally correct they. If your driving about with blacked out lights, funny colours bulbs, missing reflectors, none approved bulbs or anything like that even if you have got away with it so far your still braking the law. Though vehicles can be register for daytime use only and then the law is a bit different.

Thanks for the info. So basically what you're saying is that you shouldn't mess around with your lights at all? Just leave them standard.

ive had these lights on my car for 6 months and never got in trouble with them, the only advice id give is keep a non tinted set handy so u can just swap them over for an MOT
