Nobody else find the idea of going to the gym a bit gay?

Personally I can think of many places I'd rather be than surrounded by sweaty blokes grunting and groaning while wearing tight tops/no top and tight/short shorts, it all just strikes me as a bit George Michael.

If you have a shit diet and don't eat enough you wont grow after your newbie gains have expired, simple.

Of what though ? Lean meats and complex carbs or 4000 calories of macdonalds ?
And you say you go 5 times a week, is this 1 day after another mon-fri? Lifting weights each time?

If you have good jeans you'll stack on size regardless what you eat.

A good diet just allows you to reach your limits faster/easier.

Exceptional genetics will help you more than average joe of course but you will only get so far. Your body can't make new muscle tissue out of thin air, you need the right nutrients to grow.

Lean. He's the same weight catorgey as me so to be classed as smooth he'd need to get back upto 95+.

So he lives on fast food and is lean at 90kg ? He's either naturally around that weight or if he started alot smaller than he must have some seriously supreme genetics.
What I'm saying is if someone wants to add alot of mass, lean muscle tissue then without the correct nutrition they're not going to get it.

I train hard, going about 4-5 times a week. I was a skinny little runt, now even though I'm still very lean and slim I've whacked on plenty of lean muscle. Now benching 90kgs (probably more now tbh) and bicep curling 24kgs, not too shabby for somebody who only weighs 75kgs.

Problem is I still eat a lot of shit, I try to remember to get protein down me but I still have plenty of fast foods etc. Should really reign it in.

MiniGibbo

He is naturally lighter than me, he hasn't trained in a couple of months and been eating even less. He was telling me last night he's been living on coffee and has dropped to 85kg...

Skinny as fuck.

I however diet to get down to weight, my natural weight is around 100.

Pretty much the same as me. But im not in it to be toned and ripped. Just do it to feel good and gain some muscle, and since starting about 3 months ago, i and others have noticed a difference in my physique. Was doing the protein shakes but since stopping it, i feel they made no difference so havn't ordered anymore.

I'm not fat by any means, but no way would i change my diet to go to the gym... I play football now and then, have no trouble with that, and every morning before work i have 3 rashers of bacon, 3 sausages, 2 fried egg, 2 slices of fried bread, and beans..

stevo1600
7th June 2012, 00:30
which means you will probably die at 55. my old bosses dad used to have a fuck off fried breaky every morning for years. he died at 59 due to heart failure. id seriously think about what food you put into your body. most food like maccys make you feel shit after you have eaten and do nothing for you except pack on the fat and clog you up.

its not just about looking good, for me its about being strong. my goal is to be strong, so thats why i train, and tbh an hour of your time every other day is not alot. for the lads who dont go, try it out for a few weeks and you wont look back

We have a gym room in our house, loads of free weights, bench, plus cardio stuff etc.

I usually do it 3x a week for 45-60 mins.

I drink a protein shake once a day and I already have a relatively healthy diet. Breakfast I just have toast, lunch is a chicken sandwich and evening meal is usually chicken or turkey in some form, something carby like pasta and then plenty of veg. I don't eat like this for the gym though, I have always done it.

Balls to drinking protein shakes 3x times a day and eating egg whites for breakfast, I don't want to be a bodybuilder I just want to have a half decent, healthy body.

Life is to short to be worry about every little thing you eat. If I want a KFC or a Pizza then I will eat one, never done my weight any harm.

Blood pressure is normal (just above low), cholesterol is normal, BMI is bang in the middle of ideal.

Always thought about gyming it but I've always preferred to exercise while versing someone, I get bored quickly if there's no competition. But I don't do any exercise anymore tbh. (Bad, I know)

Plus being 22 years old and 10stone......I need to keep all the fat that I've got.
