Pic isnt that bad but some people dont like this kind of thing:P Shit quality from phone in dressing room.

Anyway footy this morning 10 mins into second half 50/50 ball bouncing about waist height, in we go i win the ball then deck it, try to stand ouch that hurts a bit. Carried off the side and get the sock/shin pad/boot off and find the below. Trip to hospital and i have torn my bloody ligaments 2 weeks before the start of the season! Weeks before im back now, was 6 weeks when i did it years ago.

Ouch, doesn't look too good. Can take a while for them to heal. I had a lot of troubles before when I had some ligament damages, took me about 3-4 months it took to be back to normal...

Hobbling about like a gimp at the moment think ill get the crutches out. Track day will be fine ill make a fibreglass mould round my foot and strap that to my upper leg so theres no pressure on my foot :P

Dilemma now is do i go to the pub or not....

5th August 2006, 14:43
Go in hard and you wont get injured! i was expecting something tasty but thats nothing!

My mate was out alot longer when that happened to him, and it happened twice that season after he had come back

Scott
5th August 2006, 14:52
i havent ever went into a challenge with anything other than 100% commit, its the ball or the player. I won the ball it was just the height of the ball that caused my ankle to roll around the ball. Hence my now vegitative state :P

Yates
5th August 2006, 15:23
i dont believe you, i think you just jumped out the way like a girl and landed badly on it :P

From a few hours ago:

Yates
5th August 2006, 17:50

Ouch, is all i can say, my girlfriend done this 7 months ago playing football, she still cant carry on learning to drive due to pain, and also only does light training, expect atleast 5-6 months for it to fully heal mate!!

in 2003 i done my Cruciate Knee ligaments, thankfully it healed within 4 months , i was lucky.

get urself some private physio and some Laser treatment, eases pain and muscle tension nicely :)

Baz
6th August 2006, 02:39
thats what football is all about! except the aim is do it to the other team :P

can't wait for my season to start, open age is pretty physical, even more so when your only 10st and 5ft7 but its all good, can't beat a good 50/50!

The first morning after is always the worst! Looking colourful. Does that have house of colour flip flakes in it? :P

WHen I twisted my knee backwards about 2 years ago it took about 3 weeks until I could walk properly. I still managed to drive to work everyday and hobble across site on crutches though :P

At the trackday last week I twisted the same knee... It keeps twinging now. Injuries are ghey and do come back to haunt you at some point later down the line :(

welshy2k

ouch looks painful, footy injuries suck..

i was in goal in a 5 a side match a bit ago, saved a shot with my leg, but he hit it that hard it caught me on the toe whilst my leg was outstretched, and it just twisted my knee the opposite way... had to get carried off by the ref and the guy who took the shot... i went down straight away, and you just know it isn't good.. never been in so much pain.. i hate to think what it's like when you break something... i only tore a couple of ligaments !!!

Geoff
7th August 2006, 22:11

7th August 2006, 22:45
my bro and i suffer from bad achilies (spelling) joins in our right foots and used to do alot of agressive skating repeted abuse on the achilies in rollerblades = foot stuck in rollerblade for a day!! joints are always the worst to as you constantly wanna be moving them plus pressure build up is a killer! hope it goes to the yellow green stage soon for you then you know itll be over soon

barrett
11th August 2006, 12:22
Thats a beauty!!

Surprised you just damaged the ligaments, but when you broke you tib and fib did you have plates put in?

Never been luck enough to see my own bones come through the skin but seen plenty of other peoples!!!!

Hope its not too bad.

Give the heel a nice squeeze with you thumb and you can indent it and get nice little pitted bits on the surface from the water retnention!!!

Mike
