It cranks over but no spark tried unlocked ecu the black box under dash
Any ideas wat this could be?

So there isn't a flashing orange key on the dash?

Also when I did my conversion, I put 2 earth's onto the gearbox, and 1 to the chassis - and that caused mine not to spark. Should have 2 on the chassis and 1 one the gearbox.

Worth a try..

Na not wen the box under the dash is out that light don't come up
Did u bolt the other earth on to the same place as the original one and connect that to the chassi?

So what ECU are you using? And what have you done with the immobiliser box under the dash, exactly?

Single plug ecu unlocked and unplugged the immobiliser box

Have you plugged loom wires up front into fuesbox?

Luke93

Yh I did I'm baffled by it

Crank sensor plugged in properly as this is what sends a signal to coil pack?

This ^^ ....

Yh I checked them well the alternator, gear box, coil pack, under manifold, the one that goes into fuse box and the other one that goes to the bigger fueses and the one that goes to the chasi behind battery.
Is there any I'm missing?

Luke93
10th June 2012, 10:56
Yh the crank sensor is plug on

saxova

Is there 2 on the chassis and one on the gearbox?

Might sound daft.. but when I had 2 on the gearbox and 1 on the chassis it wouldn't start / had no spark

Swapped them over and it fired.. and it's ran since :)

no spark or no fuel?
you immobliser cuts the fuel supply not the spark so theres no point unpluggong your immobliser if your getting fuel....

Mr_P

Was it flashing up when the immobiliser was plugged in?

Luke93
10th June 2012, 13:28
The light was flashing wen imob was plugged in and there is fuel just no spark

Luke93
10th June 2012, 13:28
I tried swapping earths over no luck thou

stevo67
10th June 2012, 13:30
Do you have any spares like coil packs/crank sensors that you can swap over?

Mr_P
10th June 2012, 13:41
How are you checking for a spark? Holding the coil pack in mid-air won't give you a spark afaik.

So you aren't using a properly unlocked ecu then by the sounds?

Locked ecu = no spark

Unplugging the immob box only works to unlock an ecu Whilst the engine is running.. And if it gets put on another car with the immobiliser box still in it will re-lock.

So you sure it's been unlocked professionally? Most professionals remove one pin to completely eliminate it being able to re-lock.

My immobiliser cuts spark, not fuel?

Your immobiliser on a saxo cuts the power to the electric FUEL pump, thus stopping the fuel from getting through.:y:

My conversion wouldn't start because I had bad earths and no fuel getting to the rail, simple things are often the cause. U need to earth the plugs when checking for spark,

So how did a coversion i completeds pump prime with a locked ecu? Surely if it infact did that the pump wouldn't even prime?
Curiosity.

na i tried my bros coil pack but mines a black plug lol

A locked ECU MM IAP.41 which i guess your using a single plug vts ecu will still prime the pump for 2 seconds on 2nd click. They also turn the fuel relay on manifold heater etc.. But then shut off and won't spark.

i took coil pack off put the spark plugs into the coil pack put against the rocker then tried starting it

i bought a unlocked ecu off here, which i thought was the problem then was disapointed when tried to start it, there is fuel just no spark :(

You must have an IQ of around 10 to not understand.. Either that or you need to stop wanking as its making you go blind.

Okay I'll do that.. To the opticians or school for you I take it?

Also cam was the helpful one and actually answered my query. As it appeared you didn't have a clue..

Any conversions I've done get fuel and no spark if the immobiliser is locked.
Granted they were 106's but they have the same part numbers on the immobiliser boxes etc so I assume the system would infact work the same?

Either way mine would fire fuel out of the injectors when first trying to crank over but would not spark.

Thus my original post.

You have to have the engine running whilst you un plug the black box

I just done a conversion this weekend on mine but I shit out as I used a single plug ecu and loom on my 2002 3 plug vtr! Need to find a diagram do you know of any ?
