My laptop is shit recently so decided to restore it to factory settings and during the process it said unable to restore cause of an error click ok to restart computer. And every time I reboot it says "BOOTMGR is missing press Ctrl+del+Alt to restart" so I press them and it restarts and comes back to this message. So I can't do anything with it now + laptop Neva came with operating disc. So wat do it do?

Post screen should prompt with an option to boot to a setup partition, select startup repair from the options and this should resolve your problem

your windows boot manager is missing

Basically it cannot find the files to boot so cannot start or run windows

You can sort this by reinstalling the os there are other ways to et around i think you can use chameleon boot loader, there are other partition management program's which you can use I know of netbook installer but that's obvious for netbooks.

It won't get to this because the boot manager which is the partition manager is missing.

Well im guessing I'm gonna have to buy a o/s disk then which is annoying my laptop never came one because the recovery is built in or something :/ cheers anyway :)

the EWFMGR.EXE application can be deleted, since it is only needed when modifications to the

OP- best, and SIMPLEST thing to do, would be to get hold of the OS disk... Which OS you running? Can possibly send you the link to a genuaine copy.

:detective:I'm sure what was mentioned earlier about startup repair works, I think I had this on my old laptop which was running XP at the time, think it's under the F8 menu. (Turn on your laptop and spam-press F8 till you get asked about safe mode etc.) Why people are commenting about Win7 is beyond me, he hasn't mentioned which O/S he is using.

Sure you can use any Linux distro to rebuild your MBR.

Thinking on it sure windows 7 has an option on the disk / .ISO.

too hard to tell what's going on. O/S Disc or attempt to boot into command prompt and repair mbr

BOOTIT NG is your friend.

Probably restored partition is not active and thus wont boot.

You can view the MBR in bootit and set the relevant partition to active.
