Hi i will cut the story as short as i can all will make sense later but, got a custom saxo rear bumper that has a 106 recess mounted in professionally and using the origional 106 numberplate lights as the main lights. this has to be wired up to a saxo wiring loom.

The boot is fully smoothed but the origional numberplate lights were on seperate plugs. I chose this to be my main feed for the 106 lights. after running +/- wire from the boot to the number plate i came across a problem... how many watts do both of them need? after researching the haynes i faound that each bulb holder is 5a. Meaning 10a in total, my question is this explained in the pic below:

With the following:

1. put a 10a fuse from the main feed and then two separate 5a inline fuse on each light to split 10a to 2x 5a?

2. just leave 1x 10a fuse from feed and the lights will split the power seperate (not sure its safe)

3. No fuse at all as thir is two seperate 5a fuses in passangers fusebox to supply the 10a current needed for both lights

just dont want to keep blowing bulbs the second their on lol

thanks need to know asap as cant drive at night otherwise.

Ide say leave out the 10 amp fuse and put a 5 amp fuse after the break where the arrows are. Otherwise one will be slightly dimmer.

Amps and Watts are different things.

Each bulb will be 5 Watts - 10 Watts in total.

A 5 amp fuse will be more than enough for 2, 5w number plate bulbs. They will probably draw less than 1 amp.

Just take a feed from the original wiring for the number plate or tail lights, you'll be covered with the fuse thats already there.
