helpppp! vtrs cutting out randomly!

so there i am driving down this hill....whack it into neutral....car cuts out...no steering and the brakes cease....first thought was the alternator...but the exhausts blowing too so im thinking too mch airs gone in and cos it was in neutral it cut out....opinions?!

it doesn't save fuel.. it uses more.

When you engine brake ie leave in gear with no rev's.. Then no fuel is used on the overrun.

Brakes and powersteering are ran off the engine. Hence why your steering went heavy / brakes didn't work properly..

yupp the injectors dont fire off when u take your foot off the accelerator thats what the idle control does (Y) but as for your car cutting out a leaking exhaust shouldnt cause that but i'd fix that anyway and alternator could be a problem but does the car start after it has cut out?
