right im trying to prove a point to a mate about two things and would like your opinions please.

1) is it possible to get your car resprayed for £350 as i dont think it is even if you knew the guys doing it it just seems really really cheep.

2)do STUDENTS get a discount on PETROL if they show there student card... as im sure petrol prices are petrol prices and theres no way to get money off unless you spend £50 in store and get 5p off per litre?

1 yes it is possible to get your car re sprayed foir 350 but expect a shite job unless hes a mate whats doing it

gt refinishers were gonna do my trim bonnet and boot for £350 but in no way is it a full respray probably a quater spray

Well petrol thats a definatle no no, imagine everybody would just use their son/daughters student cards then to get discounted petrol!!
Whats the point of paying full price if your kids and just fill it up for u cheaper!

And about the repray, well put it this way, im having both of my doors resprayed for £400ish inc removing the dents and delocking them.
A full respray at £350 might be possible but imagine how shit the job would be.

I think everybody has a person in their life that talks complete crap, no matter how much proof you give them its never enough.

Ive been told things like a 106 GTI is a turbo (because its called a GTI!)
Been told that a MK4 2.0 Golf GTI is faster than the 1.8T golf
Zetec S's are much quicker than saxo VTS's/106 GTi's
And of course you have all been told that an air filter, exhuast, manifold, cams and remap have took saxos up to 170bhp... (damn i love that one)

well in all honesty and experiance:

1) yes you can get a whole car resprayed for that much, infact cheaper, around £250 even, majority would do a really poor jo but some for £350 will do a decent job on it.

2) really ? :S im going back to uni.

no chance could you get a full respray for £350 unless you want to have it touched up every 5months.....students get nothing but robbed so the answer to that is no!!!

depends also on the size of the car and if hes gettin it all sprayed or just the outside, then yes it could be possible, also depends if its the same colour

1- Yes no problem at all i could get my card sprayed for the price of the paint or even with small labour well under 350 quid

2- Local garage may do a discount of its own to students.

i got my car fullt resprayed in back, colour coded, buffed, polished, and its mint with no over paint, or anything for £350.

You lot pay too much on car things, i'v noticed, the further away you go from birmingham , the more you guys pay. Take it to a asian garage around my sides.

a back street garage may do it for £350 because they are looking for the buisness and the word of mouth to help their company, but mains tream companies and most coach works will charge a fortune
