When I start my 2001 Saxo 1.1 Desire the battery charge light stays on and there's no power steering... a quick rev of the engine and the lights go out and p/s returns...what's going on?? The car drives faultlessly after this until you stop the engine..then we're back to lights on, no p/s...

Anyone have any ideas as my local Citroen main dealer said it might be anything and wanted to book a one hour ( £70 ) test session....Rip-Off or what??!:panic:

chances are that the power pack on the back of the altenator is whats playing up, the power steering is run off the power but will kick out if power drops too low, do the altenator first and go from there.

Clean up the wiring that goes to the alternator, then get the alternator tested free at halfrauds.Although my money is on the alternator being faulty.:y:
