Hi all, right I'm after getting a cage for my 16v mk2 vtr, ready for track days, now as far as I can find and have been told I will have to remove my sunroof/ replace roof skin to fit most cages but have read the sd cage is the best fitting and have found a few examples of ones fitted with sunroof still in (which I want, I like my sun roof lol)

So I just need as many pics as possible of these SD cages fitted especially if you've still got sunroof :)

Thanks a lot guys :)

I'd be interested to know too as I will need a cage for hillclimbing and the proddy regs say you have to keep the sunroof if was fitted as standard!:S

With mine resting in place, it doesn't look like the sunroof will come into contact with it, I will check next time I go to the car for you

Nice one buddy :) thank you

Just get a new roof skin fitted, problem sorted

That had crossed my mind and I asked the scrutineers about it but, the regs say all standard equipment must be fitted and working (even the bloody radio!) and, as all VT shells had sunroofs, that's a no go I'm afraid but thanks anyway.

Heres some more pics of weld in cages. Blue car is a SD and the mango (Josh's) is a light weight CR-MO OMP cage. Both have had additional bars fitted for extra strength, the blue one has A and B pillar gusset plates.

I take all these cars still had sunroofs?
Did you have to do any modifications to keep the sunroof?

Thanks for the pics btw :)
