A full respray on a saxo? Not worth it in my opinion - it won't add any where near as much to the selling price as what you pay for it - unless its a MINTER.

But who cares what the cars worth, why would you do any mods if you were always thinking of selling it.

If you want a respray....get a respray.

Full nut and bolt resprays cost a fortune

If your just freshening the same colour up there isn't much point

If. Changing g colour then you should

At the price of a set of clips for the VT kit (if you do break any) Id personally be removing the kit, its not alot of effort and will give a better finish over all.

If you want a respray....get a respray.

Because you can sell the mods and get your money back!

You cant sell a car for an extra £2000 because it had a respray, or sell the respray on its own.

Furio-Gaz-Saxo
21st June 2012, 19:28
Well like I said, to me it's just want to make car look better, so not botherd about selling it on, I know you never get what u put into it....

Just wounded if people thought £900 was pretty cheap?

Where I used to work, as a sprayer.

My boss wouldnt do a FULL re-spray unless the engine was out.

Price of just a blow over was £1000, thats with no door shuts, no eninge bay, just plain simple spray.

you want cowboys then you should meet the bloke who did a lads at work car. was going to do it for £700 but that excluded the boot and roof (wtf) all in all it cost him £800 and for saying it were done in a booth it came back with all bits in the paint and a red rad and engine (haddn't even put some paper infront of rad)

but i go a better fininsh (well my dad did) painting my saxo at home.

all in all i spent less than £400 doing the saxo up that were. paint, tinners, hardener, headgasket, bolts. cambelt kit, water pump. hammerite, stone chip. clips for the vt kit.

allthough i didn't do the roof, drivers 1/4 panel or boot cause the paint was pretty mint (wish i had just dont the whole thing tbf)

but if your mate can't get the stuff on trade/ from work. then £900 isn't bad depending on the out come.

tbf i would have been fucked off if mine came out like the lads at work. but i don't like giving my car for other people to do rarther do it myself then i know whats been done.

take the painting for example. the wings, doors, bonnet have had atleast 6 coats on each in 2pk paint. so is as thick as fook lol.

How?

Decent paint, booth time, masking tape ect cost that alone.

I wont do a respray for less than 1500. All trim is removed and all shuts and backs of panels removed and painted.

Anything less than £1k I would be very sceptical about as you gotta make some money on the job.(even for mates)

A guy local to me does pretty much a Full spray/Colour change for about £800.
Shuts, Engine bay if you remove the engine, Under bonnet etc.

He's good at what he does too.. The price I was quoted was to rectify any small dents aswell. He's doing my next car at Cost price though, as its just a quick blow over in a Matte colour and I said the body work doesn't need to be perfect.
