removing locking wheel nuts -no socket

bit of a problem, i have 4 locking wheel nuts on each wheel, and when i brought the car i forgot to ask for the locking nut socket. anyway doesnt seem like the seller has the socket so how am i going to get them off? id rather a garage do it but my vts alloys are fresh'ly powdercoated and dont want them marked.

take it to a garage they will prop weld something onto the bolt and take it off that way

Or if you're looking for a quick job, get a socket wrench big enough to sit around it (It's got to be a tight fit, we had to mallet ours on to the wheels but afraid I can't remember the size) and use that to get them off.
Might mark your alloys but we did that for all 4 wheels, took under 10 minutes and didn't have to pay a mechanic.

If you know the manufacturer of the locking wheel nuts then send them a picture of 1 & they`ll send you(for a small fee)the correct removal socket mate.

vts wheels have deep holes which the botls sit in, when i lsot my key garages said thats what they would do but if you tried it on a vts wheel it would just arc out on the wheel its self

i had loads of issues getting mine removed in oxford i went home for the summer and a little garage near me did it within minutes jsut drilled them out, the garages in oxford wouldnt dare drill it, and the botls were on too tight so the locking wheel nut remover sockets they had kept slipping off

Your local part warn tire dealer will have removal tools,. Charge about 2.50 a wheel

These work a treat and no welding required... these (http://www.halfords.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/product_storeId_10001_catalogId_10151_productId_19 6491_langId_-1_categoryId_255216) can be bought in store, they have a left handed thread so you tighten these to the left. So as they tighten onto the locking bolts, they bite and loosen them.
