Does anybody use these?
I have never used an automatic car wash in fear of my car being wrecked, but I need a quick clean after work tomorrow and don't have long - this is my only option!
Not looking for a full detail just a quick scrub, any horror stories??

My first job was working at an ARC car wash, on the first day the chain snapped on the rollers and there was a Bentley Continental GT stuck in the middle. Now that was a stressful day
But just use a brush and jet wash from somewhere else, ARC washed cars but no sparkle sparkle

Hmmmm, scratches and swirls. How about getting up 15 minutes earlier with a bucket, some washing liquid and a little elbow grease?
Not sure if you "need" a clean unless you're going to a car show.

I live in a 1st floor flat so have no access to an outside tap or a hosepipe, otherwise I'd be happy to do it at home
I'm sure if someone is happy to take a Bentley through one my Astra should be ok?!

the kind of person who takes a bentley through a car wash has no clue or no interest, simply a statement to everyone else they are loaded.

Not very, but I'd rather have that over having my car going through one of those. Sounds like OP does not have time for full detail with 2 bucket method. Last resort would be the jet wash, still expensive for what it is.

Used to use it now and again on my shitty clio. Ariel got pressed into the roof, but then sprung back up again.
Makes the car clean but no where near as good when you do it yourself, however it takes like 2 minutes so thats expected.
TL;DR ok to do now an again if you are feeling lazy :y: lol, you should be fine, plus.. it's good fun ;) Feel like a kid again. Until your windows smash cos' the rollers press to hard.

Buy a wash MIT and just go to a garage with a jet wash, get a token for a few mins and rinse then use the hot foam brush to cover the car in foam... Just dont touch the car with the brush lol
Then wash it with the MIT and go for your other token, rinse properly and then hot wax & rinse if have time
Takes like 15 mins
Not ideal but better

Take it to one of the hand car washes. Ones in my area are £2.50 and they clean the car good.
Washing up liquid dulls the paint and rusts :(

Arc car HooverS are awesome, used it on my car before I sold it, took the interior up as If it was new and it was a 9 year old cupra! Well happy with what it was like, think £3-4 and 25 mins of my sunday well worth spent, once i get my other car I'll be going there every week or two just for the Hoover! Lol
I usually wash my car by hand, then use a snowfoam machine and hot wax at a torque garage, usually comes out nice enough especially for car shows.

only people who have no idea about detailing/paintwork go through the automatic car washes.
Its not ideal, but if youre desparate then get the local easern european gentlemen to give it a clean for a fiver. Surely must be better than an automatic car wash

I had my clio in alright condition considering. It was well polished and waxed but by no means a mint car. It was filthy in winter, worse than it had ever got. The weather was awful and I was busy with work so took it to the local hand car wash. Regretted that so much, they filled it with swirls, took off all the wax I'd put on and didn't even get it properly clean! I told myself never again and since then I'm the only person to of washed anything of mine.
When I was 14 I worked at a hand car wash which was pretty decent but now that's been took over by someone else and is shit. Although I was never trained in avoiding swirls of anything.

stop being a bender, buy some stuff (mitt, shampoo, drying towel, micro cloths), carry it with you and go to a pay as you spray jetwash

Yes, Just make sure that if you ever visit Eastbourme then stay clear of the Arc car wash. The parent company Anduff Car Wash sent me just one letter in which they just stated that they would not consider recompense for the damage done to my car in there car wash. one letter end of story.
